I'm realizing now as a society we are obsessed with memories. I love revisiting my childhood. Those old movies or video games that bring you back to a simpler time. Photos and cameras serve to capture time, to preserve it, savor it.
Maybe it's because we always feel time slipping away. We're worried about being forgotten and we're worried about forgetting.
The strongest piece about being human remind our minds. Which means when they start slipping it's our worst nightmare come true.
We live for experiences trying to gain purpose and reason in our lives. Our lifetime appears so small and we are all concerned with trying to make the most of it while we can.
Even though we remain stuck in our own minds in the present, concerning ourselves with our everyday problems; there is a balance between the small elements of life and the larger scheme. At the end of the day we have our beliefs and memories but one day we may be stripped of those as well. The embarrassing moments, the ones that made us laugh or cry ultimately are all capable of slipping away.
