« Oh my god it's been so long! " Aria said as she hugged Spencer tightly

"Are you staying for long?! We have so many things to tell you" Emily continued

"Only a week, tight schedule Melissa is waiting for me in D.C. Maybe if I can do part of my job by computer I'll stay a bit longer but it depends on if I have to come back for my stuff again"

"Your stuff? So, this is really it hum?" Hanna sighted

"I'm so sad for you two guys! I really liked you two together" Emily sad-smiled (-if that's even a thing-).

"That's life Emily" Spencer sighted "But look at us. It turned out great. I moved back to DC with Melissa and I've been doing great. And I'm sure Toby is fine too. He called me the other day to ask when I'll come and he sounded really good."

"We know. The important thing is that you're happy now but it's weird to say that you two are not a thing anymore. Are you sure it's the right solution?"

"You know we tried but, we're not on the same page anymore. Actually, I don't know what we are but, it's mutual. We feel the same way and didn't want to end up hurting the other. You guys it's okay really. You don't have to pick size or anything it's life, just the way things goes."

"I know but, so soon. Don't you think taking back your stuff at his place will bring back old memories or something? "

"I think I've really moved on and, even if they did come back for a second I'm sure they'll disappear the second i walked out the door"

The girls looked at each other and Hanna whispered something.

"Hey! I'm here! What did you say?" Spencer laughed

"As long are you're happy, we're happy with you Spence "

*Group hug*

It's true. After 5 years of relationship, Toby and Spencer decided it was time to move on.
Neither thought it was going to end up this way but it did.

*flashback*

After a few months between D.C and Rosewood working with Melissa, Spencer was away a lot. She was now coming back from a two weeks trip.

She arrived before the end of the day and took some time to make a nice dinner with candles to forgive herself for being away so much: just a nice evening on the way.

She put on her nicest dress and let her hair down, quietly waiting for her boyfriend to come back from work.

The sound of the door opening and Spencer's smile grew. She ran to the door and jumped into his arms.

T/ Spencer! You're back early *he smiled*

S/ I wanted to surprise you! I'm so sorry for being away so long!

T/ You're here now that's all that matters *he smelled her hair and put her down* You look beautiful

S/ Aww. Aren't you sweet. *she kissed him softly before going back to the kitchen* I am making dinner and I'm pretty sure it's going to be eatable this time *she laughed*

T/ I'm sure it's going to be perfect.

They opened up a bottle of wine and went to the living room to make themselves more comfortable.

This night was really important for Spencer: lately, Toby was being absent, answering her texts ½, not calling her back right away like he used to... She knew it was her fault since she was doing the same so that's why she wanted to make it up to him. She didn't want to keep hurting him days after days and didn't want to end up being hurt either. Tonight had to be perfect.
