"Why the hell are you studying Japanese?" Casey looks over Mouch's shoulder to see the book that he's reading.
"I read online that once you turn fifty, your brain starts to atrophy unless you keep it in shape."
"I think that train's already left the station, Mouch." Shay replies.
"Say something in Japanese." says Cruz.
Mouch looks at him in shock, "I just started."
"Hey, uh, where's Herrmann?" I ask, noticing his absence.
"Tony Robbins seminar?" shrugs Casey.
"I got twenty bucks that says in two weeks, you won't be able to string along a sentence." Otis sips his coffee.
"Easiest money I ever made." Mouch replies.
"Done. What's today?"
"Um, 29th." Dawson tells him in between bites of toast.
"Ah, damn it." Matt takes a seat.
"Everything all right?" asks Gabby.
"Yeah. No, I just forgot something."
"Hey, everybody. We have the pleasure of hosting a couple of visiting firefighters again." Boden tells us, "This is Gavin and Presley. They will be observing over the next couple of shifts. Lieutenant Casey, Lieutenant Severide," he points at the two men and I turn to notice Kelly's entered the room, "and the rest of knuckleheads."
"Hey, guys, thanks so much for allowing us to be here and let us know if there's anything we can do to help out." Gavin (the tall dark haired one) says.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Was that a Canadian 'out'," he puts on the accent, "I heard?"
"Yes, sir. Toronto."
"We both just finished our probationary period." Presley (the handsome dark skinned one) tells us.
"You know what? Uh, welcome aboard, guys." Mouch stands up, "No offense, but someone else will have to give you the tour, because it ain't gonna be me." He leaves the room.
"Ignore him." Casey sighs.
"Truck 81, squad 3, ambulance 61 injury on the blue line, Logan Square station." The buzzer tells us and we get on our way.
"Be aware, men, the third rail could still be hot." Boden radios as the firefighters climb down to the tracks and walk along the crunching gravel. "Main, do we have a hold on the blue line power in Logan square?"
"Stand by, we're waiting for confirmation."
"Chief, we might have a victim on the tracks. Conductor thinks he hit someone." Casey calls through.
"You and Mills walk back down toward the tunnel. Mind that third rail." Boden orders.
"C.T.A. confirms power has been shut down." Dispatch says.
"Cruz, we got the all-clear. Throw the chain."
"Hey, I see somebody!" Casey calls.
"Three, two, one, go!" Cruz counts down and then throws the heavy chain onto the tracks causing a rush of sparks to fly.
"Main, we still have power on the southbound track." Boden tells them.
"His leg's stuck in the axle, I need this rail turned off." Casey says.
"We're working on it, Casey."
"Chief, there's another kid in the tunnel. Mills is going inside." says Matt.
