On my bed in the firehouse a bouquet of orange roses are waiting on my pillow, a few petals scattered down the length of the sheets and I frown. What is going on? Who's sending me these?

I pick up the flowers and then take them back to the kitchen, replacing the pink roses which previously replaced the red roses which was the first bunch I received. At home I've had yellow roses and blue roses delivered to my door and every single one of these gifts simply has my name written in the same handwriting.

"Ambulance 61, Engine 51, Truck 81, Squad 3. Accident at Broad and Wacker." The alarm sounds and I finish snipping one of the roses before heading to the ambulance.

There's an accident involving three cars.

Ones smashed into a lamppost which has fallen over the car and smashed the front of it entirely.

And a few metres behind a blue truck is nose to nose with a smaller red car.

"Three-car accident with multiple victims. I need two more ambulances." Chief radios. The other day he had a meeting with McLoed and cancelled his retirement fortunately for 51.

"Copy that."

"Chief, we got the minivan." Casey says and goes to the car against the lamppost.

"Squad, check out the second car." Chief orders.

"Capp! You grab the passenger." Severide tells her. "Shay, Clarke, you guys grab the pickup."

"On it."

"51, drop two lines and charge them. I smell gas." Chief says.

"Dawson, could use your help in the minivan." Casey radios.

"On my way," she replies and picks up one of the jump bags. She then turns to me. "Go help Squad."

I grab the second bag and then jog over to Kelly.

"What's going on?" I ask, to get the amount of information that I need.

"We've got two in the car. Both are bleeding. Passenger's unconscious." He explains. The engine revs and then the wheels start spinning on the spot causing a fair amount of smoke around the vehicle. "Hey! Hey, bud, what the hell are you doing? Get your foot off the pedal get your foot off the... Capp, get over here!" Kelly shouts. The two of them pull him out of the car and I take a step back, waving my hand in front of my face to try and clear the smoke from my view. The smell of burning rubber fills the air momentarily.

"That guy caused the whole thing. Was driving like a lunatic." The man from the minivan shouts across the street angrily.

Kelly practically lays on the guy who's struggling underneath him to get away.

I prepare an injection to knock him out and then stab the needle into his ass, making him instantly more still.

I look over to see how Dawson is getting on with the victim in the other car and I see the last being pulled out on a backboard with a pretty bad chest laceration.

She gets out fine and then the car bursts up in flames. I start to run forward, my heart racing quicker as Casey and Dawson are still inside. Truck grab fire extinguishers and out out the flames quickly and efficiently.

The two of them jump out safely just as the car bursts back up again. But they're safe, that's the main thing and I retreat backward again.
