29. Baste Reacts

I ran. I immediately ran to my mom. I hated them. I hated that they kept things from me. I'm not the freaking 4 year old that you think I am. I'm smarter and more mature than any of you will ever be.

You see, my day started like always. Of course, I'm the boss. I tell them what I want to do, I tell them what I want to wear, I tell them what I want to eat, I get it. I'm powerful like that. I guess we babies are the real bosses around here.

When we got to my show, I felt sleepy. I know that people would cover my shift anyway so I asked mom —she's my assistant— that I wanted to sleep. She agreed. I'm not the only star of my show. Anyone could cover for me. Even my best friends, kuya RJ and ate Maine, are willing to cover my shift. It's my show, but it's also their show anyway.

I slept. All throughout the show, I slept like a big baby. I love sleeping on the job. I get paid anyways.

That's where all hell broke loose. First, I caught kuya RJ sneaking inside the room behind the couch where I was sleeping on. He thought I couldn't see him. Of course I thought he wanted me to find him, like a game of hide and seek that we always do, but no. A few minutes after he got in, ate Maine crept slowly towards the same room. She went inside. I heard the door lock behind her.

I didn't think any of it, not until I heard ate Maine moaning like crazy. Of course, I've heard that before. My parents' bedroom walls are paper thin. That sound has scarred me for life and now I'm hearing it from one of my best friends. Yeah. I feel like crap. They could've just told me they're screwing. It will make it easier for me not to like kuya Alden, even though he's so nice to me.

I thought I had the edge. Ate Maine is mine. She loves me. She told me that. I know kuya Alden loves me, too, but hearing ate Maine say it to me is music to my ears. She even kisses me like my mom does. I like that.

I've heard my pediatrician talk about me one time saying that it's normal for me to be closer to my mom at this age, women in general. She said I had an Electra Complex. I didn't know what that meant. Maybe it's something they describe to babies loving girls. She also said that I will hate my father for being affectionate with my mother. Of course I will. She's mine so he better stay away.

That's what I felt when I heard kuya Alden with ate Maine inside that room. Curiosity got the best of me so I stood up, walked towards the door and peeked inside. I couldn't even begin to describe what I felt at that moment. I hated them both.

Kuya Alden was behind ate Maine. He was moving slowly, forward and backward. He was hugging ate Maine who waa holding hia face, kissing him, with lots of tongue, while he moved. She moved with him. I don't think they saw me, so I slowly went back to sitting on that couch I slept in.

When they got out. I couldn't face them. "BAWAL MAG-UYAB!" I shouted. I frowned. That's when they called us to prepare to go on stage. It was a good thing, too. I got away from them for a little bit.

When we were on stage, they kept waving and saying hello. I tried to ignore them but they were persistent. Let's see if you're still going to be persistent if I destroy you both on my show.

"Baste, ano meron? Bakit?" Tita Ruby asked me. I wanted to tell the world that I saw the two srewing backstage and they broke my heart but I couldn't. It'll just break me even more.

"Bawal mag-uyab." Was all I could say. I was on the verge of crying. Good thing mama was there to comfort me. At least one of the girls in mt life actually cared.

When the show ended, that's when I ran to her. The two wanted to follow me but I glared. They backed off.

"Baste, bakit ka galit kay Ate Maine at kuya Alden?" My mom asked me. I can't believe she's taking their side.

"Mama! Nasakpan nako sila nag iyot sa likod!" Everyone heard me.

When I looked at my mom's, ate Maine's and kuya Alden's faces, they were pale as bond paper. I knew I won.

This isn't over ate Maine and kuya Alden.
