~

Have you ever cried yourself to sleep and then woken up, realizing that you had never really even slept in the first place? That, as those tears washed down, your mind simply stopped all activity and you were in a state of limbo; of white space?

If so, then I guess, you too, know what it feels like to feel so hopeless and lost that everything around you becomes bleak and obsolete.

Everything Andrew had said to me was true. I was selfish for thinking that I would get Him by using Ethan, someone I was 99% sure would walk through fire for anyone. I was manipulative for trying to twist and play with both of their feelings, for my own benefit. I was mean because, all up until this point, I hadn't seen any wrong with what I was doing. And I was arrogant because I thought that I would get away with it and live happily ever after with my decisions.

How naive could I be?

"Harper, get up!!!" Seth boomed bustling into my room. I fake yawned and wiped at the dry tears that stained my face.

"You look terrible" he muttered dropping to his knees and rummaging through a pile of my clothes that sat on the floor.

"What are you doing?" I grunted swinging my legs over the bed and watching him as he pulled a shirt and shorts out, "I thought you weren't a personal stylist?"

"I'm not" he grinned giving me a wink, "I need you to get dressed. We're going out for breakfast"

"I'm not feeling too hot"

"What's wrong?" His concerned voice told me that Andrew had kept his mouth shut.

"I'm just not feeling good right now. Can I take a rain check?" I forced a smile and he shook his head.

"C'mon Harper! It'll be fun, Kyle and Lea are totally your kinds of people. Kayla's Super sarcastic and slightly angry at the world, and Lea is a pocket full of sunshine with a twist...You'll hate Kasey though, nothing relevant comes out of her mouth and Aidan is~"

"No" my voice came out harder than I wanted it to at the sound of her name, "I really don't want to"

He stared at me for a while before he nodded slowly, "okay"

"Thank you" I nodded at him and looked down as he slowly folded my clothes back up.

"Keep the house phone close to you, in case of emergency. My cellphone and Ethan's are both going to be on the fridge okay? Don't hesitate to call if anything comes up" I nodded at him and he stood up, "I've got a lot of healthy crap in the fridge....but if you go into the top left shelf, you'll find my stash of Doritos and gummy bears"

I grinned remembering an instance in which he had told me that Trish was a health freak.

"Thank you" I whispered as he turned to leave. His bright eyes found me and he squinted slightly as if trying to get a better look at me.

"Whatever it was you were crying about obviously wasn't worth it" he murmured genuinely, "Nothing worthy of your time should make you hurt that bad"

I stared at him, slightly wide eyed, before he burst into a grin, "Feel better"

I dared not move an inch as he walked back out into the hallway and announced that I would be absent from breakfast.

"Why?" Chandler whined.
