Janitor's Closet

It is later in the school day. Jake & his friends were gathered in the hallway, talking. Jake was looking up & down the hallway. He was trying to find his mystery girl. Although...he couldn't miss her. Em is ranting about some girl she was talking to.

"So, I asked her if she had ever been "lucky"," Em said to Chris. Chris couldn't help but ask, "What did she say?" "She asked me what I meant," Em replied. "Oh, that's rough," Chris stated. "I don't get it," Taylor said, jumping into the conversation. She was obviously the most innocent of the group. Chris & Em looked at Taylor. They couldn't believe she didn't understand. Chris glanced down the hallway. He noticed JJ heading towards a janitor's closet. He had to make Jake notice. Chris elbowed Jake in the ribs & said, "Hey, Jake. Look, it's your girlfriend." Chris pointed in the direction that JJ was. Jake noticed that JJ had actually gone into the janitor's closet. He couldn't help but wonder, "Why is she going in there?" Chris & Jake looked at each other. Jake looked back at the closet. He was looking to see if she'd come out...She didn't. Chris asked, still looking at Jake, "Well, are you going to follow her, or not?"

~~~~~
Jake had eventually made his way down the hallway. He was now just a few steps away from the door of the janitor's closet.
Jake finally reached the door of the janitor's closet. He turned the knob ever so slowly, as if to not disturb anyone, or anything, that may be inside. He slid through the door, not looking at what stood in front of him; Jake was too focused on trying to close the door behind him. He finally turned around to see a big, blue police telephone box. He couldn't help but stand there; staring at the box. He couldn't help but wonder, What is a blue police box from the 1920's, doing in a janitor's cupboard in 2017?  Also, where did JJ go? Did she go into the box? Why would she do that? Jake was full of questions. Eventually, Jake's curiosity got the best of him. He opened the TARDIS doors; just enough to see what was inside.
~~~~~

Jake's head popped around the corner of the door ever so slightly. He opened the door just enough to squeeze through. Once Jake was inside, he closed the door quietly; Jake didn't want to disturb whoever was inside. He looked around in aw. At least he didn't freak out. He seemed to take the whole 'bigger on the inside' thing very well. Jake could hear faint talking. He sat on the ground & practically slid his body over & under the walk way of the TARDIS. He found, what seemed to be an engine under the walk way. He peered over the walk way, just enough, to see the Doctor & JJ talking at a what looked to be a control panel.

~~~~~
The Doctor looked at JJ, as he pulling on different of levers & switches. "So, what do you think of humans?" he asked. JJ paused for second. She didn't know how to describe them.
~~~~~

Jake stood looking & listening to them. He had several thought & questions come to his head, all at once. What does he mean "humans"? Aren't the humans too? No, of course they're not. They have a box that is bigger on the inside.  Most importantly...what did JJ think of humans? Why is that the thing he questions the most? "I don't like them," JJ replied to her father's question. Jake was hurt by this response. He knew that he didn't even have a slight chance with her.  He was extremely saddened  by this.

~~~~~
The Doctor looked at JJ, shocked, when she stated her response. He knew that she never really did like humans. Even hearing his bedtime stories, from when she was a little, with humans in the stories she didn't like. "Oi, humans are nice," the Doctor said, defensively. "They may be nice, but...I don't know. I just don't understand your fascination with them," JJ said back to the Doctor. The Doctor looked at her with curiosity in his eyes. He knew that wasn't entirely true. "Really? Because you seem awfully fascinated with one," the Doctor couldn't help but ask about him. "What are you talking about?" JJ asked. "Mr. Jake Howard. It seems, to me, like you fancy him a little," the Doctor said, cheekily, to his daughter. "What?! No! No," JJ said, slightly aggravated that her father would make such an assumption as her fancying a...human!  "Are you sure?" the Doctor asked his daughter. The Doctor had always wanted his daughter to be happy, so he needed to know if this human made her happy.
~~~~~

It was at this moment that Jake decided to really listen in for JJ' s answer. "Yes, I'm am sure that I don't fancy him," JJ finally answered. Jake's face fell cold, until JJ said, "He's nice though...Really nice."

~~~~~
The Doctor stared his daughter. He could tell she was lying about not fancying Jake, he just couldn't figure out why. "Uh huh?" the Doctor questioned. "What?" JJ said, confused on what her father was implying. The Doctor walked over to another portion of the TARDIS console. He started flipping random switches. "What?!" JJ questioned; getting angrier by the moment. "It doesn't matter," the Doctor said, not looking up from the console. "Fine," JJ stated.
After a couple seconds of silence between the two, JJ finally walked over to her father & asked, "So, how about a quick trip?" "But you still have school," the Doctor stated. JJ looked at him as if he had lost his mind...Although, he lost that a long time ago. "Dad, did you forget that the TARDIS is a time machine?" The Doctor looked up in disbelief; he couldn't believe he had forgotten that bit. "...Oh, yeah. I knew that!" the Doctor said, trying to play it cool...JJ wasn't buying it. "Sure you did. So, where should we go?" JJ asked her father. "How about a space base?" her father asked looking at her. JJ looked at father. "Allons-y!" JJ said, trying her best to recreate the 10th incarnation, of the Doctor's, voice. The Doctor paused. He couldn't believe his daughter had just made fun of him. He cringed a little at the memory of saying that. "Really?" he asked her. JJ simply said, "Yup!"
The Doctor & JJ started to press buttons & pull levers in sync. The flight was a little rough. The Doctor & JJ were practically falling over everything.
~~~~~

As the TARDIS started to move, Jake clung onto a metal bar rail for support. He had never been more scared in his life.

Eventually the TARDIS came to an abrupt stop. Jake still clung on to the metal bar. He was afraid it might start up again.

~~~~~
JJ looked at her father. "Where are we?" she questioned. The Doctor smiled at her & said, "Let's find out.
The Doctor started to run towards the door. JJ followed close behind him.
