Doctor Who: Apple Trees

Guess who's back Pt. 1

The Doctor stepped out of the TARDIS. He quickly looked both ways to make sure it was safe. Then, he motioned for JJ to come out.

Jake stood in the TARDIS. He was trying to see where they were...but at a safe distance. Jake eventually took small steps towards the door. He peered out to see JJ smiling. She seemed so thrilled to be there. He could hear JJ ask, "Where are we?" That is when Jake decided it was time to step out himself. 

Jake stepped out. JJ didn't notice him at first, as she was still looking at her father, waiting for an answer to her question.  She didn't notice him until he said, "...Yeah, I'm curious to know that as well." JJ & the Doctor spun around to look at the stowaway. JJ looked furious. She looked as if she was a bull & he was the red flag. "What the hell are you doing here?!" JJ asked, infuriated. "Well, I saw you sneaking into a janitor's closet. So, I had to investigate. Little did I know that you own a time travelling machine...& you're not human," Jake said in response to JJ's question. "You were listening in on our conversation?!" JJ asked, getting slightly more infuriated by the minute. "You're not human?!" Jake asked JJ. JJ paused. It was if she was considering on answer the question & telling him more about her. JJ pulled Jake, by his sleeve, down a long corridor. She made all kinds of turns; The Doctor followed close behind her, of course. Eventually, JJ pushed Jake against the wall. Jake hit it with a 'thud.' She backed up from Jake; JJ now stood beside her father. She looked cross. She eventually just said, "I can't believe you followed me! You're such a little bitc-" JJ paused, as she had just heard the sound she most afraid of...A Dalek's voice. 

The Doctor & JJ's eyes widened with fear. Jake even had a face of pure terror, & he didn't even know what it was. The three all turned to where the sound was coming from. "...Uh, what was that?" Jake asked, scared. JJ looked more scared by the minute. "Well, that sounded like something I never wanted to hear in person," she said, slowly started to back away, slowly, down the hallway. The trio could hear fain, "EXTERMINATE!" down the other hallway. JJ asked, "Dad?" "Yes sweetie?," the Doctor responded. "I remember you used to tell me stories. About the time war, doomsday...& if I didn't know any better, that sounds an awful lot like a-" JJ said, but paused in terror, as a Dalek had just turned the corner towards them. 

"IT IS THE DOCTOR, & HIS ASSOCIATES! YOU WILL BE EXTERMINATED!" the Dalek yelled at the group. JJ stood there staring at the Dalek, before yelling, "Run!" JJ grabbed Jake's hand & pulled him down the hallway with her. The Doctor followed them, in a quick run, behind them.

As JJ, Jake & the Doctor made a turn down a corridor, the Dalek shot at them. It just barely missed the Doctor. JJ leads Jake down countless hallways. Eventually, the Doctor grabbed JJ by the arm. 

"Hey, there is a small crevice here in the wall," he said gesturing to the small space. The three quickly slid into the crevice.  As they slid into the small space, JJ realized that Jake was panting. It was like he was a dog on a hot, sunny day. "So, are you just really out of shape or is that the first time you've ever ran?" JJ asked Jake. Jake said, still panting, "...Shut up!" "No," JJ said, smirking at Jake.

After Jake had finally caught his breath, Jake finally asked, "What was that thing?" The Doctor & JJ looked at each other, as if they were trying to come up with a lie to hide the truth. The Doctor eventually decided to just tell him, "It was a Dalek." "Excuse me? It was a what now?" Jake questioned, practically yelling. "Shhh!" JJ said. JJ tried to peer out of the crevice to see if anything was coming. 

"Sorry, but what is a Dalek?" Jake asked in a soft whisper. "It's a war machine," JJ started to say. JJ looked at her father & said, "I remember you used to tell me stories about them when I was a kid." "Yeah well, I was hoping the stories would convince you that travelling with me is dangerous," the Doctor said in response to JJ's statement. "Oh, I know it's dangerous," JJ said. "Then, why do it?" the Doctor questioned his daughter. JJ paused for a second before answering. "...Because what is life without a little risk?" JJ asked her dad. The Doctor smiled at her & said, "A very dull one." "Exactly!" JJ said joyfully, as she got the answer she was hoping for. The Doctor shook his head, but kept a smile on his face. "You love the danger," he said. "Hey, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree!" JJ said smiling at her father.

A/N: Sorry guys. I meant to post this yesterday, but I got tied up with some things. I was doing a play for my local library & I just didn't have the time to post it.
