Doctor Who: Apple Trees

It's gone.

Jake pulled JJ, by her hand, down several corridors; the Doctor followed close behind. 

Jake came to a stop when he came to a place where there were multiple places to go. "Which way is the TARDIS?" Jake asked. The Doctor stood in the corridor for a second. The Doctor pointed to the corridor that was the furthest left. "It should be this way," the Doctor replied.

The Doctor ran ahead of JJ & Jake. It seemed like they had ran for years. Their journey came to an abrupt ending when they found themselves in the same hallway that the TARDIS should've been, but wasn't.

The Doctor turned to face his daughter & her friend. First, he looked at Jake. He felt horrible, because Jake was now, most likely, going to die.

Of course, he looked at his daughter. His most prized possession of all. Raising her was the greatest adventure he ever had. Now, his princess was to be slain. The thought of this made his heart ache. The Doctor couldn't help but remember what he promised JJ.

After the untimely death of JJ's mother, his wife River, JJ asked her father something. JJ asked her father, that when she die, he must make sure that he takes her data ghost & save her to the library. JJ wanted to be with her mother in the afterlife. 

"How do you know that you're going to die before me?" asked the Doctor. "Well, I at least hope that you're going to out live me. But if I do die before you, promise me that you'll take my data ghost to the library," said JJ. The Doctor looked at his daughter. He knew how much she wanted to be with her mother again. He knew because he wanted to be with her mother again. He couldn't deny her wish. The Doctor finally said, "I promise."

Back to the corridor. The Doctor looked into his daughter's eyes. He couldn't help but think, "How am I supposed to bring her data ghost to the library, if I'm dead too?"
