Jake had enough of listening to this conversation. He wanted to know the important information. "Okay, sorry for asking, but how dangerous are these...Daleks?..." Jake started to question. Then, he was just laughing when he said, "...I mean, one of there arms is a sucker!" "Yeah, well that sucker can suck on your brain, & feed off of your brain's information, until you get suckered to death!" JJ said, trying to make Jake realize that this is a serious situation. "...Oh?" Jake questioned. The Doctor decided to jump into the conversation himself at this point. "Also, those things they were shooting at us...yeah, those are death rays," the Doctor said. "Oh," Jake said, slightly more afraid. "I bet your wishing you didn't stow away now!" JJ said, looking at Jake. Jake looked at both the Doctor & JJ for a second. Jake leaned in close to JJ's ear. He whispered, "What's life without a little risk?" JJ's face tensed up at that. Jake pulled away from JJ's ear; he was smiling. The Doctor looked at both of them for a second. Eventually, a grin came to the Doctor's face. "...Anyway, let's get back to the war machine, shall we?" The Doctor began to squeeze his way out of the crevice.
JJ began to squeeze her way out of the crevice; Jake also squeezed his way out. JJ slowly jogged to catch up with her father. She eventually caught up to him. "Wait, so does that mean we're on Skaro, because the last place you saw the Daleks was on Skaro with what's her face," JJ said as she caught up with her dad. The Doctor looked at JJ. "You mean Missy?" he asked. "Her & Clar...Oh wait, you don't remember her," JJ said as an answer to his question. "Who else did you say I was with?" the Doctor asked his daughter. JJ looked around for a second; she tried to avoid answering the question. She finally said, "It doesn't matter."
"Well, maybe the Daleks transported themselves to somewhere different. Maybe they're on Earth, the Doctor said." "Well, don't you know where you've taken me?" JJ asked her father. The Doctor paused for a moment. "Not exactly," he responded. "So, you were hoping that the space base you were taking me to was...Wait, you said that the Daleks could be on Earth, but how could we be on Earth if you took me to a space base?" JJ questioned her father. JJ stared at him with a serious face. The Doctor, once again, paused. He didn't know what would be the best answer for his angry daughter. The finally managed to say, "...Uh..." "You set the controls to randomize, didn't you?" JJ asked her father, infuriated. "Sweetie, I'm an old man. I can't think of different places to take you every time you want to go somewhere.
~~~~~
Jake glanced over his shoulder. Jake instantly looked scared at the sight of what was behind him. He tried to tap JJ on the shoulder; she was too busy scolding her father to pay attention to him.
~~~~~
JJ brushed Jake's finger off her shoulder. "Shut up, Jake," she said while still looking at the Doctor. "You shouldn't have set controls to randomize. What if the Alliance had called a meeting, to make plans to put your head on a stick, & we just happened to land right in front of them?" JJ questioned her father, still infuriated.
~~~~~
Jake couldn't take his off of what lay before him. He was terrified. He decided to tap the Doctor on the shoulder this time; the Doctor was unfazed by this.
~~~~~
"Well, then I would've found a clever way out of it," the Doctor said in response to his daughter's question.
~~~~~
Jake had finally had it. He decided to yell, "Guys!" The Doctor & JJ finally looked at him. "What?!" they questioned & shouted at the same time. Jake pointed out in front of him. "That!" he yelled. Stood in front of the group, was two Daleks.
~~~~~
The Daleks began to roll closer to the group. "YOU ARE THE DOCTOR!" the first Dalek yelled. "YOU & YOUR ASSOCIATES WILL BE EXTERMINATED!" the second Dalek chimed in. The Daleks both pointed there death rays at the group & began to chant, "EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!"
JJ stepped toward the Daleks. She stood there, fearless it seemed, even though the Daleks could kill her at any moment. "Oh, give me a break! You lot have never killed the Doctor before! What makes you think you'll win this time?" JJ questioned these utter monsters of the world. The Daleks didn't answer her question; they just kept chanting 'EXTERMINATE.' JJ looked at them for a moment. Then, she finally said, "You know, I wish it didn't have to come to this."
Jake started to unzip her red, leather jacket. As it unzipped, you could see she was wearing a black, strappy sports bra. JJ reached into what seemed to be an inside pocket in her jacket. She pulled out her mother's old gun. JJ pointed it out in front of her. She aimed directly for the first Daleks eyestalk. She fired her gun; it was a perfect hit into the Dalek's eyestalk. The second Dalek turned it's eyestalk to face it's blind friend. The second, & final Dalek, looked back at JJ & said, "MERCY!" JJ paused for a moment. "No!" she finally said, as she fired her gun. Once again, it was a perfect hit. While the Daleks weren't dead, at least they were blind. This gave JJ & her father, &...acquaintance, the perfect time to run past them.
"Run!" JJ yelled. JJ was the first to run past the Daleks, followed by the Doctor & eventually Jake. As they ran down the corridor, Jake would look behind him every chance he got to make sure that they weren't following him. Once again, they made twists & turns down various corridors. Eventually, they came to corridor & decided to stop & pause for a breath.
~~~~~
Jake was panting heavily. After regaining his breathe, he finally looked up at JJ & said, "That...was...awesome! Where did you learn to shoot like that?" "My mum taught me," JJ said in response to Jake's question. "I wish she hadn't," the Doctor stated, not looking at JJ. "Yeah, well, I just saved your arse, so a thank you would be nice," JJ said to her father. The Doctor finally looked up at his daughter. "Thank you," he said. "You're welcome!" JJ said. JJ put her gun back side her inside pocket. "How did your gun even fit in there?" Jake questioned JJ. "The pockets...they're bigger on the inside," JJ answered. "So, Jake, come with me back to the TARDIS. I think I know how to get rid of the Daleks for good, but I need help carrying something," JJ told Jake. Jake started to follow JJ. "Wait, do you need me for anything?" the Doctor called after his daughter. "No! We should be fine on our own. Just don't get in trouble!" JJ said to her father. Her father looked at JJ for a moment. He looked her directly in the eyes. He looked as if he was questioning her with just his eyes. His face straightened suddenly, as if he understood what she was doing. "Okay," he finally said to her. JJ looked at him for a second, then glanced back at Jake. "Come on!" she said while motioning, for him to follow her, with her arm.
