Doctor Who: Apple Trees

Forget Me Not

As JJ ran across the planet, with Jake & the Doctor right behind her, she paused, as she had seen something she didn't really want to see.

Jake had turned around, to look behind him, to see if the terrifying Daleks had been following them. When Jake had turned back to look in front of him, it was too late to stop him from running into JJ.

He toppled over on top of her; her chin hit the surface of the planet with a big 'thud'; Jake slowly started to get off of her.

"Sorry," he said as he got back on his feet. "Sssh!" JJ pointed over across the way from them; there were two Daleks a little bit ahead of them. 

"Get behind this!" JJ ordered while pointing at a giant boulder; Jake & the Doctor did as she ordered. 

The trio peered over the rock to see the horrible creatures. "So, how are we going to get around them without, you know, dying?" Jake asked the Doctor & JJ. "I'll distract them," JJ responded. Jake looked at JJ questioningly. "How?" he asked. "Don't worry about it-" JJ began, "Here." JJ took off her red, leather jacket. She handed it to Jake. "Hold on to this for me. Dad, you & Jake get back to the TARDIS. When you get there, don't forget to come back for me," JJ ordered.

The Doctor looked at his daughter; he couldn't believe that she thought he would forget her. "How could I ever forget you? You know, with your big...personality, & all?" the Doctor asked his daughter, jokingly.

JJ paused for a minute. "I don't know whether to be angry that you basically just called me obnoxious, or happy that you can't forget me," JJ said in response. "A little bit of both. Now go!" the Doctor said.

Jake sat there looking between the two when he finally decided to ask JJ a question. "Wait, wait, wait...What exactly are you going to do?" Jake asked JJ.

JJ turned to look back at Jake. After a brief consideration of her answer, she finally decided to say, "...Spoilers!" JJ took off running. 

She ran to where she knew the Daleks would be able to see her. "Hey! Look at me, I'm a target!" JJ exclaimed to the Daleks. One of Daleks tried to shoot JJ with it's death ray, but she ran off just in time. The two Daleks turned & went after JJ.

The Doctor peered over the rock to see if the Daleks were still there; he had only seen them going in the direction towards JJ. The Doctor turns to look back at Jake.

"Alright, let's get back to the TARDIS!" the Doctor told Jake. 

The Doctor stood up from behind the boulder & ran towards where he thought the TARDIS was. As he got five feet away from the boulder, he turned to look behind him, to see Jake running, with JJ's jacket still in hand, in JJ's direction. The Doctor called after Jake. "Jake! Wait!" Jake didn't turn around to the Doctor's call. 

The Doctor decided to keep going towards the TARDIS.
