Into The Dark - A SOR Fanfic

Chapter 4

                       Tomika's POV

         Standing still, I glance down at my hands. White from gripping my broom. Taking a deep breath I nod towards Summer, and Freddy snatches hers quickly. Making faces at me while he swept.

         "Thanks Freddy!" Summer sighs, her dreamy face on. I grab her arm and pull her outside of the classroom. And she immediately snaps out of it. "That was a very cute game of keep away." She mumbles, folding her arms.

         "It was nothing." I gulp, reaching for her hand. She snatches it away, and shoves it into her pocket.

          "It didn't look like nothing!" She half screams.

          "I swear it wasn't!" I push my voice not to crack. I hate lying, especially to my friends. Not that I usually do or anything.

          "Fine, whatever." Summer mutters before stalking back into the classroom. Putting my hands in my head, I sigh. You are not going to cry Tomika, not now. Then one tear falls down my cheek and I let it stay. I deserve to be humiliated, for what I did.

           "Hey, Tomika. Are you okay?" Freddy asks, as he strolls up to me. I hurriedly wipe my face and nod. "You don't look okay." He says, concern creeping into his voice.

            "No I'm not, I just lied to Summer. And I can't take back what I said." I cry, falling into his open arms.

            "I bet it will all be good by tomorrow," he breaths in my ear. I nod, and sink deeper into his arms, inhaling his smell. Which is slightly cinnamon, and fresh cut grass.

           "Hey Tomika I," Summer says cheerfully coming through the door then stopping abruptly. She looks between Freddy and me. Who had pulled away from each other as soon as we knew she was there. Hurt settled onto her face, and all I wanted to do was apologize. But Summer would never forgive me now.

         "Summer!" I yelled as she stormed back into the classroom. How could I have done this to her. She trusted me, and now I've betrayed that trust. I follow her but Freddy's grip on my arm stops me.

         "Let her cool down, or you'll never get to apologize, she'll just be mad." He says to me, pulling me back to him.

         "But I feel so bad, I've betrayed her. And I know that will take a lot of time to fix." I moan, leaning my head on a locker.

         "Everything will turn out right." Freddy presses on, joining me at the lockers. I nod not fully convinced of this.

          "Thanks Freddy." I say, turning to him. He looks at me, his eyes darting around for a bit.

           "Hey can I ask you to come to my locker after school. I was wondering if you could help me practice something?" Freddy asks me, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.

            "Of course! I'd do anything for a friend that helped me!" I say excitedly.
