Summer's POV
Angrily, I stare at the poster on the wall. Tears start to form in my eyes and I kick the wall lightly.
"Why so mad?" Kale asks, putting her arm around my shoulder. I kick the wall again. "You know, kicking the wall isn't going to tell me what's wrong."
"There's a formal school dance, and Freddy will probably be going with." I huff.
"Meagan." Kale interrupts me. I nod, butting my lip. "He would be silly not to go with you!"
"I know." I whisper. I haven't told anyone what happened with Meagan and the knife.
"Well if you don't think he'll ask you, why don't you go ask him yourself!" Kale chirps, tugging on my hand. Smiling I follow her down hall. Meagan is wrapped around Freddy, kissing him non-stop.
"Yuck!! I haven't seen someone kiss a boy like that ever. And I'm pretty sure it will haunt my nightmares forever." She shudders, and I let out a giggle. Meagan's eyes meet mine, and she excuses herself from Freddy's group. She stalks up to me, and pokes me right in the chest with her bony finger.
"Just because Freddy hasn't asked me out, doesn't mean he still loves you. He probably hasn't thought of a way yet." She stutters, trying not to be embarrassed.
"Of course." I lie, stepping aside to let her pass. When she's out of ear shot, I turn to Kale and start squealing and jumping up and down. She joins me, flailing her arms.
"What are we so excited about?" Kale asks, confused.
"Because Meagan said Freddy hasn't asked her out yet, which means he's waiting to do something for me!" I squeal. Kale beams at me, giving me a told you so smirk.
"Hey Meagan!" Freddy calls out over the whole crowd. Meagan slowly turns and smiles brightly at him.
"Yes Freddy?" Meagan asks, sending me a smirk.
"Will you be my date for the school formal dance?" He asks her, mini fireworks going off in the back round, along with the love song I wrote.
"Yes!!" Meagan screams, then runs down the hallway with her friends. I turn back to Freddy, tears threatening to come out. He looks panicked, but I shake my head, and walk off with Kale. Freddy told me he loved me, so why would this happen.
Oh no!!! Freddy asked the wrong girl to the dance!! Ugh!
