Chapter 15

                       Summer's POV

You have no one Summer. Everyone hates you. They all think you're a piece of useless junk. Sniffling I stare down at the pink tiled floor of the bathroom. You chose a guy over Tomika, that guy chose another girl. I never mentioned Zack to Tomika, and Lawrence is just with the guys.

Bitting my lip, and squeezing my eyes shut I imagine a world without me in it. Everything would be better. I start to cry again, cool tears run down my heated face. Summer, you are ugly now, not even the nicest boy will like you. I bite down hard, then wince as the hot blood oozes onto my tung.

"Summer?!" A sweet voice calls into the bathroom. "Is that you?"

"Yes." I mumble, trying to clean my mascara stained face.

"Oh Summer!" Kale sighs, pulling her into a hug. "What's wrong? You were always so happy before." I shake my head trying to tell her I don't want to answer.

"You can tell me, I can talk it out with you." She comforts me. I sob into her shoulder, my chest heaving with the effort of breathing.

"So me and Tomika promised each other that we wouldn't touch Freddy, but then I broke that promise when we had a big fight and I accepted his invitation of being his girlfriend. Then this morning, we were talking to Megan and she talked about movie nights, and trips together. Then she said things about getting new underwear for their trip! I got so mad at him, and he'll never forgive me!" I scream. Kale sighs, and strokes my hair.

"Well, if what you are saying about Freddy and Meagan is true. Then you have the right to be upset." She tells me. "And for the thing with Tomika, well just apologize majorly, and hope she accepts." Nodding I pull back from kale. I look down at her now covers in makeup white recycled toilet paper dress. 

"Oh my god Kale, I am so sorry!" I moan, trying to wipe it off.

"Don't worry about it!" She smiles kindly. "I'll go talk to Freddy for you."

"Thanks, you're such a great friend!" I tell her, she just nods and walks off. I really hope this whole thing can get resolved, I don't like being involved with drama.

"Kale! Are you in here!" Tomika yells as she enters the bathroom. She stops dead in her tracks when she sees me. Glaring she holds up her phone. "Kale told me to meet her here, did you see her anywhere?"

"No." Tomika turns to leave. "Wait Tomika. I need to apologize." I blurt out.

"Finally! Go on!" Tomika says impatiently.

"Well when we had our fight, I was so mad because, I felt trapped. I made that promise thinking Freddy would never like me, so I had nothing to worry about. But then he asked me out and I couldn't refuse. Then this morning I found out he was basically cheating on me before we even started dating. I guess I realized how much I need my best friend." I gush out, breathing deeply at the end.  Tomika smiles sadly, and shrugs. "Please forgive me, I need you."

"I don't know, you hurt me pretty badly." She scoffs at me. I stare at the ground.

"I did didn't I." I mumble. I stand there, and listen as Tomika's footsteps fade away. Wow, she can hold a grudge.
