Chapter 7

                       Summer's POV

         I smile at myself as I tie the last knot on the bucket. Now Tomika will pay, in a not so horrible way.

         "Of course Principle Mullins. I'd be delighted." Clarks, squeaky voice echoes down the hallway. I slam the the roof tile back into place and scramble to hide myself and the ladder in time. Just as I shut the bathroom door, I hear the sound of heels clicking by. I pump my fist in the air, I wasn't caught.

        "Summer?" Zack's voice rings in my head.

"Hey!!" I drawl out, awkwardly. Rocking back and forth on my toes.

"What are you doing with a ladder?" Zack asks me, touching the green slime on the side of the ladder.

"I..." I started.

"And in the boys bathroom!"

"I...."I begin again.

"Without Tomika!" He groans. I raise my eyebrow, and roll my eyes. That girl, ugh, I hate her.

"I'm not......" I huff.

"Is Tomika coming??" Zack asks, grabbing my shoulders.

"If you let me talk, I would explain!" I say exasperated. He nods, relaxing his grip on my arms. I take a deep breath and start. "First of all, I'm not friends with Tomika anymore, she betrayed me. The ladder is to pull a prank on her, and the boys bathroom is the closest hiding spot."

"Oh!" Zack says, stepping back, and tripping on his own feet.

"Are you okay?" I ask, pulling him up. He nods, brushing his butt off.

"Why aren't you friends with Tomika anymore?" Zack questions, frowning. I raise my eyebrows.

"Were you even listening??" Zack nods.

"Look, you need to forgive Tomika for whatever she did. She's not a bad person!" Zack shakes me.

"Zack, I'm not going to....... wait, why are you so keen about Tomika?" I ask, a smile spreading on my face. Zack blushes, and stares at the ground.

"I like, like her." He gulps, breathing hard.

"I knew it!" I scream, jumping up and down! "Now Zamika can happen."

"Well she doesn't like me." Zack states, kicking his foot at the floor.

"That doesn't mean you can't go for her! She amazing, she'll see reason and take pity on you!" I say sweetly to him, resting my hand on his shoulder.

"A-ha!" Zack shouts, pulling away from me. I look at him questioningly. "You still care for Tomika, you can't stay mad at her forever! She's your best friend!" I turn to the door and realize Zack is right, I can't live without my best friend.

"Thanks Zack! I'll definitely mention you to Tomika!" I squeak, and race out of the boys bathroom. Gripping the tiny box in my hand tightly.

             "Yes!" I hear Tomika scream as I round the corner. Freddy's and Tomika's lips are locked together. I gasp and drop the box. I'm so stupid!! I turn and run as fast as I can. I swear I can hear my heart breaking, and I'll tell you. It hurts, bad.
