                       Tomika's POV

"Summer, look I wanted to apologize." I gulp, then sigh. "This will never work." I huff, hitting my head against the mirror in the girls washroom. Time was slipping by, and every second gone, was another without my second half.

"Summer!" I cry out, my throat constricting. Tears fall silently down my cheeks, not stopping, or slowing. What I did was not only humiliating for me, but I betrayed Summer.

"I can't believe I gave you up for a boy!" I squeak out, gripping the edge of the sink. "You're worth more than Freddy!"

"Really?" Comes Summer's soft voice from the hallway.

"Yes, I'm so sorry. I just couldn't help myself. I know I stepped out of bounds, and crossed a major line, but I hope we can be friends again!" I blubber, holding my fist up to my mouth to stop my lips from trembling.

"Well that would have worked just fine as an apology." Summer sighs, entering the bathroom, where I'm breaking down. "I can never stay mad at you for so long. I nearly lost my head without you. The thing that happened with Freddy is already forgotten, if you forgive me for forgetting our years of friendship. That definitely is more important that boys."

"Really?" I splutter, walking up to Summer. She nods, tears glistening in her eyes. "We can be friends again?" Summer nods again. I laugh, relieved, and jump into Summer's arms.

"But Tomika," looking up, I see Summer's serious face, and my mood changes. "I don't think our friendship ever ended, it was just broken, or put to the side. But never really gone." Laughing again, I fall back into her embrace. The best thing in the world, and Freddy's crazy if he doesn't like, like Summer. Because, even though she's not perfect, she's just the thing he needs. Wait Freddy.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you I liked Freddy!" I spit out, clenching my hands into fists, waiting for her response.

"It doesn't matter who you like, not even that it's the same as mine! But what matters is that you kissed him!" She breaths into my hair.

"I thought you said it was already forgotten?" I huff, Summer sighs.

"Yeah, but you brought it up." True, I did bring it up. Then it hits me,
And I stumble backwards.

"Summer!" I say nervously. She looks at me worriedly. "Freddy likes someone, it could be anyone, but I think it's you!" She screams in my face, and grips my hands. Then stops.

"But what about you?" She asks.
