In the pov of Rei
Two days had gone by after I had woken up at Angel-san's house.
And to tell the truth, I was frustrated.
I hadn't really found anything about the person who shot me, my wounds are painful but luckily finally healing, and Angel-san keeps appearing in my dreams and thoughts, distracting me from work.
She invaded my thoughts, making me more and more curious about her identity.
I wanted to know everything about her, and I wanted her by my side. Somewhere I could see her to calm my mind.
I had sent Kitamura to find information about her, but I'm starting to get impatient.
I'm also still injured, so I can't go see her myself yet. I don't want to put her hard work in vain.
The stitches on my chest prove that someone who doesn't work for me or know me is compassionate enough to care for a man like me.
Well, of course, she doesn't know what kind of man I am, but no ordinary man would get shot and wouldn't want to go to the hospital.
She was so beautiful as well.
She had long black hair, a fair face, and big eyes.
I just want to know her properly.
And almost as my thoughts as a cue to enter. "Boss. I have finished the report on Ichinose-sensei." Kitamura was simply standing between the sliding door and looking towards my bed where I lay. He didn't look into my eyes.
I could feel my face brightening up.
"Come in. Tell me everything." He stepped in reluctantly, and finally, after a long silence of searching through papers, he started.
"Her name is Ichinose Mei. She was born and raised in Kyoto. Her birthday is January 15th, 1995 making her 25 years old, which is a very young age to become a successful surgeon. Her mother works as a pharmacist, and her father is a famous writer named Ichinose Ryo. Her mother's name is Ichinose Kyoko."
I listened intensely as he spoke, and he glanced at me nervously.
"Please continue." He nodded fastly and continued his report.
"She has no siblings. She has been intent on becoming a surgeon from a very young age as her grandfather, who she really adored, was one."
"And her grandparents now?" He looked at me for a moment before answering.
"Both died on the same day in a fire seven years ago." I nodded.
"She had a close friend named Chou who is currently missing and who inspired her to learn martial arts. As a result, she's a black belt in aikido, karate, and judo. She's also a blue belt in Taekwon-do."
I whistled in admiration.
"The name Chou would indicate for him not to be Japanese," I stated and looked at Kitamura.
"Yes, he is half Chinese. There is, however, no clear connection between him and the mafia." I nodded.
"Is there a possibility she could like him as more than a friend?" He shook his head.
"I found no indication of that." I felt happier immediately.
"Good, continue."
He rummaged through the papers again and continued while looking slightly nervous.
"She did her studies apart from uni in Kyoto and later studied at Tokyo University. She has had no previous relationships, but she has been confessed to multiple times. She always turned her suitors down."
"Do you know why?" He shook his head.
"I found no reason for her to turn down her suitors." I nodded in thought and indicated for him to continue.
"She hasn't traveled outside of Japan; her favorite color is red, her favorite flowers are orchids, and she loves dogs. She isn't that fond of chocolate except for dark chocolate, and she loves lemon pastries." As he finished, he closed the file and looked at me.
"That is everything, sir. She is quite normal if we exclude the fact that she is a genius surgeon." I fixed my blanket slightly and ruffled my hair.
"So, what's her opinion about the yakuza leading the country?" He frowned a little and opened the file again to check.
"She's neutral, sir. Apparently, she doesn't care as long as she can live peacefully. For her, it's the same who leads the country." I smiled. So she has nothing against us. That's a plus.
I waved for Kitamura to leave, and he exited through the sliding door closing it as he went.
I had learned so much about her and to think she doesn't like chocolate that much either. So she must be made for me, destined for me.
I can't wait for my wounds to close, that I can go and meet her in person.
I want to talk to her. I want to touch her. I want her more than anything.
I was just drowning my head in my memory of her when someone knocked on the door. I sighed frustratedly and ordered the person in.
Ken, one of my most trusted subordinates, was standing at the door. I indicated for him to speak.
"Master, the results from the bullet have arrived, and it was a Japanese self-defense gun. The kind any citizen with civil code four or higher can buy, but it's not strong enough to kill immediately, making it pretty harmless unless you don't go to the hospital."
He was looking at me quite angrily from behind his brown hair.
"I apologize for not going to the hospital, but we have more pressing issues to handle than my fear of hospitals. Do you say that the gun was Japanese? Meaning that the person who shot me and bought the gun was Japanese?" He nodded.
"Most likely. If someone had stolen from us, we would have noticed. But, instead, it was someone from Japan who for some reason doesn't like you." I nodded.
"I can come up with quite the many reasons." He nodded.
"Indeed. There are quite many people who don't like you master." I sighed.
"Find the person who shot me. No one gets away with going against me." He bowed fastly.
"Yes, master. I will spread the orders to find this person immediately. Also, are you sure you don't want to go to the hospital? Then, we could arrange for you to be checked by the person that helped you. She is a doctor, right?" A smile spread across my face.
"Brilliant Ken, brilliant. Arrange a checkup for a doctor named Ichinose Mei. She works at the Tokyo university hospital."
"Yes, master." He bowed and left the room, and I leaned against my pillows smirking.
I will see her soon. That will probably be the best day for me in a while. I wonder why I didn't think of arranging an appointment with her?
