In the pov of Mei

I yawned as I woke up to my alarm and smiled.

I would have work today. Meaning he can't keep me confided here.

If I understood correctly, Hakamada would escort me, but that's fine as long as I get out of here.

I stood up and put on my clothes.

I put on the first thing my hand touched. I grabbed basic blue jeans, a white sleeveless shirt, and black boots that I would wear when I left the house.

I grabbed my red handbag that contained my wallet and phone. Of course, I also grabbed my usual work bag.

I walked to the kitchen and got myself some breakfast by myself as it was still really early, and I didn't want to wake anybody up just because of a piece of bread.

I spread the butter on top of the bread, cut some cucumber, and leaned on the counter while I ate it in a couple of huge bites.

The kitchen was really modern compared to the rest of the house.

Its image fits a higher-class restaurant with its silver counters and multiple ovens, to tell the truth.

Well, the food for tens maybe even hundreds of people are prepared here so of course, they would need a lot of space.

I swallowed the last bite, left the kitchen, took my boots and bags, and walked to the main doors.

Hakamada was already standing at the door dressed in casual clothes, which were quite surprising compared to the yukata look he showed me yesterday.

He was dressed in a loose black jacket, and I could see a white shirt underneath it. He also had blue jeans and black shoes. His hair was tied on a loose ponytail behind his head.

He didn't have his katana with him. That I was glad for, it would gain too much attention. However, I am sure he has his dual guns hiding under that loose jacket.

He smiled at me as I walked to him.

"Ready to go, ojou-san?" I nodded to him, and he led me outside.

He was standing next to me but far enough for him not to touch me.

He really looked the part of a bodyguard, which I'm not sure if it's a good thing.

"Hakamada?" I said his name in an asking tone. Hoping to get permission to ask him something.

He looked at me with kind eyes.

"What is it, ojou-san?" I felt like frowning at the ojou-san but kept it inside.

"Is that guy still sleeping? I was wondering if he was feeling alright after the restitch."

He frowned as I called him that guy. Was I too rude? But it's a fact that I don't like him.

"Yes, he is still sleeping. I checked on him before leaving, and he seemed to be doing well. Also, I would appreciate it if you didn't call master "that guy." He really does love you. Can't you even try to return his feelings?"

I looked at his dismayed face as he led me to what I think was the garage.

"Well, I find his means to be wrong. Who claims someone to be theirs? Even if he isn't forcing the marriage on me,  he still isn't allowing me to leave him, so the situation is a win for him. He also threatened me, so that's a minus."
