In the pov of Mei
"Tch." I clicked my tongue and glared at him as the red spot got larger under his hand.
"Are you an idiot? Is there something wrong with your brain? Why didn't you tell me your wound reopened? There's no way you didn't notice!" I was shouting at him, and he frowned, looking slightly away from me.
"I thought you hated me." I sighed deeply and ruffled my hair.
"That has nothing to do with this. I am your doctor. My job is to heal you, and you are to tell me if your health is at stake. Wasn't that the agreement?"
He stared at me, bawled, and I bit my lip.
"We don't have time for this. Go lay down on the bed. I'll go get my equipment. Don't you dare move from that bed."
I glared at him for one last time and burst out the door.
I ran through the hallway to my room. I got some looks on the way, but I didn't care. I cursed the long hallways as I finally reached my room.
I grabbed my medical equipment bag that contained all of my things and ran back to his room. Once I reached him, my breathing had gotten ragged.
He was lying on his bed. He really hadn't moved.
I kneeled next to him and pulled the clothes away from his chest.
I grabbed a pair of scissors, cut through the bandages, and removed the rest of the covers from the wound.
It didn't look that bad.
The stitches that kept the wound closed had partly severed.
"I need to re-stitch the wound. I won't need to do anything else, so I won't put you under anesthesia. That would be dangerous as I don't have any monitoring devices. Anesthesia in itself isn't risk-free. I will simply numb the pain from around the wound."
I opened my bag and took a sterile needle and some pain-numbing medicine.
He stayed quiet as I explained and said nothing as I prepared the injections.
I looked at him in the eyes and slightly raised the needle.
"This will sting a little." He nodded and ground his teeth.
I swiftly and neatly pushed the needle inside the flesh near the wound on several different spots refilling the syringe each time.
I poked the area around the wound with a needle and looked at Yamaguchi.
"Do you feel anything sharp? Of course, you can feel pressure, but there should be no pain."
He shook his head.
"It's numb."
I nodded and prepared my stitching equipment by sterilizing it and the area around the wound with alcohol.
"Tell me if it hurts." I didn't wait for an answer and started fixing the severed stitches.
He didn't say anything. He didn't even flinch.
