In the pov of Mei

I walked to Chou, sat on the chair in front of him, and smiled at him.

I looked at his hand and sighed.

"Seriously, Chou. You need to be more careful, but it's nice to see you." I smiled, and he smiled back at me as I prepared the injections to numb his pain while I stitch his hand.

"I will inject some numbing medicine now." He nodded, and I pricked his skin with the needle.

He didn't flinch. He just watched as I proceeded to stitch his wound.

"Tell me if it hurts. I'll add more medicine." He nodded, and I started doing a zigzag stitch to his arm, pinching the wounds two sides together.

"So, what have you been up to lately? You said you've been busy with your text." I gave him a reassuring smile.

"Just this and that. The hospital has been getting a lot of patients lately."

"Hmm. You know I actually visited your house yesterday before texting you, but you weren't there."

I almost let it show on my face, but I managed to reel my shock inside.

"Yeah, I have been sleeping here at the hospital lately. I need to take really good care of one patient of mine."

Well, technically, it's not a lie as that guy is also a patient of mine.

"I see. You must have been really busy. Be sure to eat and sleep properly, though. I don't want you fainting from exhaustion." I nodded to him.

"Don't worry. I have been sleeping and eating. The hospital makes sure of that as if I didn't. So there's nothing that could go wrong." He sighed, smiling at me as I finished stitching his arm.

"Well, I'm glad to hear that." I smiled back at him and put on some covers and bandages to the wound.

"Alrighty, I'm done. I looked up at him with my lecturing gaze and started lecturing him with my super tedious tone.

"Now, I will get you an appointment for stitch removal three weeks from now. We will move the appointment by a week if the wound hasn't healed since then. You are not allowed to do anything physically exhausting. Sweating is a no-no. You will also need to ensure you won't get the bandages wet while showering. I will also have you come here twice every week to change the bandages and covers. A nurse will take care of that. Any questions?"

He stared at me for a moment and then shook his head.

I smiled, standing up.

"Then I need to go now. I need to do a check-up on that patient of mine." He nodded and stranded up as I did.

"So I will ask the nurses at the counter for those appointments?" I nodded.

"Then I will be going." I was about to step out when he grabbed me from behind and hugged me.

"I missed you, Meichi. You know you were one of the reasons why I decided to come back here, don't you?" His voice was desperate.

I raised my hand to his and silently raised his hands to turn around.

I looked into his eyes and smiled.

"I missed you too, Chou." I raised my hand to his face, stared into his brownish-black eyes, and ruffled my hand through his dark brown hair.
