I woke to sunlight and someone kicking me in the shin. They must have rolled closer to me as they slept and was know kicking me away. I went to sit up to yell at them when I noticed the bow notched with the arrow pointing at my head.
"Get up! Be quiet! I don't want to wake anyone else up." Glimmer said kicking my shin again. "Hurry or I'll shoot you!"
I took my coat off that was draped around my front. I was so tired from yesterday, I forgot to grab a blanket and just used my coat. Glimmer huffed as I slowly put it on and looked around at the others. Cato was asleep about a foot away from me. I went to grab my ax when she stepped back in front of me.
"Leave the weapon! Leave your coat! I don't want you surviving long enough for Cato to find you. I also want him to think you left in a hurry."
I shrugged my coat off as the boy from 3 appeared around the side of the cornucopia and came to a halt once he saw Glimmer and I.
"Cato! I finished the mines and they work. Their deactivated for now until we bury them. But your plan is ready!" The boy yelled and Cato jumped awake.
Glimmer let go of the arrow and I tried to spin out of the way. Cato yelled and the rest woke up.
"Fuck!" I screamed.
The arrow stuck out of my right shoulder. I fell to the ground trying to keep myself from passing out. I took deep breaths and gritted my teeth to not scream again.
The pain was agonizing. I laid on my back and looked up at the sky. If I look at my shoulder I will for sure pass out.
"Someone take it out! Now!" I shouted.
Cato appeared next to me holding my left hand. His eyes very wide and I could see the fear in them. Why does he care so much? Shouldn't he be happy that I'm going to die? Easier for him to win now.
"Hold her down, as I pull it out. Someone get bandages!" Peeta said kneeling next to me.
He put his hand on my shoulder to keep it down and the other on the shaft of the arrow. Cato pressed my other shoulder down and then straddled my hips.
"Ok. I going to pulled on-"
He slowly pulled it out to not tear the skin anymore. I arched my back and screamed. I turned my head to the left because I couldn't look.
"Wrap it up. Wrap it up!" I said as the warm blood streamed down my arm.
"You're going to have to burn the wound. We can't stitch it closed. Burning works I watched it during training the one year back home. Here." Marvel said handing Peeta a rod and the end was glowing hot.
Peeta pressed it to my wound without warning. The pain was more agonizing than when the arrow was in. I screamed. I never felt the rod leave or Peeta putting the bandages on. My vision blurred and unblurred. But I never passed out.
Once Peeta was done Cato picked me up and took me to the lake to wash the blood off. Once he was down my arm was numb and I leaned against his shoulder as I watched the fish swim by until Glimmer dropped a spool of wire on my lap.
"Time to fish District 4 or can you not fish!"
