"Marvin, we need to talk about Whizzer," Trina hadn't even said hello to him. He just walked through the front door and she was there with her arms crossed. Uh-oh. Marvin nodded, what was going on with her lately? Ever since Whizzer had gotten in the hospital, she had been very uptight.

"Sure, what?" Marvin looked at the mirror across from the front door. Did Whizzer do this the day before he got into the accident? Did he look at his facial features too? Did he notice the bags under his eyes - did he see the way his eyes kinda looked under the light? Did he hate the way he looked too?

"Marvin, I'm not doing this anymore, you need to choose between me and Whizzer. Take your boyfriend and get out of my house," Marvin's jaw dropped in shock. Was Trina kicking him out? Did he have to choose? Whizzer or Jason?

"I'd never choose between them, Trina you of all people should know how love works," Marvin looked in the mirror once more. This time he saw a man who was willing to stand up for the people he truly loved. Not a freak.

"Then get out of my house, and don't you dare go near my son," Trina warned through clenched teeth. Marvin shuttered turning around and slamming the door behind him as he left. Where would he go now? He was homeless.

"Marv," Whizzer sat up in bed smiling. He immediately stopped when Marvin looked at him with sad eyes. "Why are you frowning? What's wr-"

"Don't worry about it," Marvin spat. He took a sharp inhale when Whizzer winced. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't take it out on you," Marvin sat at the chair at the end of the bed placing his hand firmly on the metal bar crossing from one end of the bed to another.

"Well what happened?"

"Guess what?" Marvin changed the subject, hoping that Whizzer wouldn't catch on. "I got us tickets to a concert, you know weeks from now when you get out." Marvin smiled. "A play about a guy who's going through tough family time and his kid plays chess alone,"

"Sounds like us," Whizzer chuckled. "Should we invite Trina along? She'd love to come!" Whizzer was practically glowing with excitement he hadn't been to a play in so long. And tight after he got out of the hospital? Score.

"Lets not," Marvin blurt, "Lets make it a date night, or something,"Marvin added quickly. Whizzer nodded in agreement happy for something to look forward to. Instead of hospitality.

"I can't wait!" Whizzer squealed, always happy to try something new. Except socks with sandals, try anything hut that. Whizzer rubbed his hands on the blanket. "I hate it here," he muttered. Marvin hot out of the chair to stand beside Whizzer - which he realized he had been doing a lot lately. How many times had he visited Whizzer? Too many to count.

"I know you do," Marvin sighed.

"Marv?" Whizzer looked into his boyfriends eyes, "so help me if we go home and you de-color organized my shirts I will hurt you," Marvin laughed reaching for Whizzers hand. Maybe he shouldn't bring up the whole getting-kicked-out thing. Not yet.

Marvin held a little box in his hands, he had just gotten it. Inside the box was a ring. An engagement ring. He was nervous and his hands were sweating. Maybe he could propose after the play. Weeks from now. But if he wanted to do it at all he had to do it now so he wouldn't chicken out.

Walking down the hall, Marvin could hear the restless sounds of the hospital shuttering around him. He hated to think about the lives saved and lost all in one building. Marvin turned the corner walking into Whizzers room. He nearly dropped the box.

The room was empty.

"Wh-Whizzer?" Marvin turned to see Charlotte in the corner of the room smiling sadly.

"Marvin, we need to talk," she sighed "it's about Whizzer,"
