"It's Halloween! I should be with my son on Halloween night," Marvin had yelled into the phone, pacing around the kitchen. Whizzer winced at the sound of Marvin's voice rising. He lept over the couch and mouthed to him crossing his arms over his chest in a fast motion. Stop it. Marvin sighed, shaking his head and pausing.

"Okay, how about this? You get to have your 'Halloween Dinner' with Jason and I'll take him trick or treating with-" Marvin paused glancing over at Whizzer. Worried what Trina would say if she knew Whizzer was now living with him. "-Me,"

When Marvin got off the phone Whizzer was standing at the sink washing the same plate over and over again. In a daze. Marvin walked up to him, looking at how much soap Whizzer had spilled not only on himself but on the floor as well.

"Trick or Treating with Jason tonight?" Marvin whispered. He saw something flicker in Whizzers eyes - he was hoping it would be happy - but it looked like sadness. "Whizzer what's wrong?"

Whizzer paused, dropping the plate into the sink of foamy water. "Nothing," he brushed past Marvin ignoring Marvin's protests of 'well something's wrong'. Whizzer threw himself into his room, ignoring Marvin's at first concerns and then his annoying attempts to get Whizzer out of his room to talk.

"You're just being a drama queen!" Marvin yelled through the door, earning him a laugh.

"I KNOW HONEY!" Whizzer yelled back, ending Marvin's quest on getting him out of his room. Jason would be over in two hours and he didn't want to have to deal with two children tonight. Mendel was out of town visiting his family so it was just the two in the house. Which led to a lot of bickering and fights.

If only Mendel would come back...

Jason came over smiling, and very happy. Which lifted Marvin's spirits greatly. Even better - that he didn't have to see his EX - Trina - when she dropped Jason off. Who might have sneaked a few pieces of candy and eaten them secretly?

Whizzer finally came downstairs when Jason arrived. His cheeks looked reddened like he had been rubbing at them. Which concerned Marvin greatly. Almost like he had been crying. On Halloween. One of Whizzer most favorite times of the year. Where he could dress in drag and say it was his "costume".

"Hey, Jason!" Whizzer plastered on his smile for Jason. Marvin tried to make eye contact with him but couldn't. Whizzer wouldn't look at him. Odd. Jason looked pleased with himself, he was carrying his overnight bag. Like every other week.

Why can't things just go back to normal? Jason permanently in one place...

Whizzer was finally cornered after trick or treating and when Marvin was running on his last nerve.

"Listen, you!" Marvin whisper shouted careful not to wake Jason who had passed out on the couch after searching his candy and watching a few episodes of some new TV show. Marvin had Whizzer carry him to the guest room. "I get it - you have to be the comedy of the bunch or we would all rip each other's faces off! But WHY are you so upset tonight? It's Halloween! YOU LOVE HALLOWEEN! Why are you so depressed tonight??" Whizzer sighed deeply leaning forward and kissing Marvin.

"I can't do it anymore sweetie," Whizzer said softly. "I can't watch your blessed heart slowly wilt every Monday, Jason needs a permanent home. He needs his father. He needs his mother all in one house, he needs a tight-knit family," Whizzers voice broke. Hoping his point was getting across.

"A-Are you breaking up with me?" Marvin choked.

"I just think it would be better for-"

"NO!" Marvin blurt, "this is about me and you! Not Jason! Not Trina! This is OUR relationship! If you're happy and I'm happy then why change anything?" After a few moments of silence, Whizzer spoke.

"I'm not,"

"W-What?"

"I'm not happy watching you unhappy, Jason needs his father and his mother all in one house. And if I can do what's best for Jason then I will," Whizzer mumbled, "It comes down to Jason or mines well being and I'd rather have Jason be well," Marvin stood in shock for a few seconds.

"That's sick," he whispered. If he was going to break up might as well made it a big deal. Go big or go home, right? "Forcing yourself into a situation? Please, making me choose Jason or you? Jason's my blood. It doesn't matter if you're with me or not, I'm never getting back with Trina,"

"Give it some time,"

"Why-" Marvin was at a loss for words. He didn't want to break down in front of his soon to be EX. "I love you so much Whizzer,"

"And I love you, that's why I'm doing what's best for the people you love," Whizzer took a sharp inhale of breath. "By tomorrow I'll be out of your way."

And then he left.

And then I was alone.
