"Do you remember your first kiss?" Marvin blinked as he remember the conversation he had had with Whizzer days after meeting him over the phone. He had to call late at night so he wouldn't wake up anyone in the house. It made him feel young, like he was hiding something from his family. Which he technically was.

Now, as he was driving to Mendel's office, hoping he was still at work he could hear Whizzer saying these words again. Since it was over the phone Marvin couldn't see his facial expressions, he could only hear it. Why the conversation was coming back now - he had no idea.

"Uh-" Marvin was great at talking to people. It was a great quality to have, it was as if he could talk to anyone and everyone in the world without stuttering, all except for Whizzer. There was a crackling over the line, meaning that Whizzer had moved the phone.

"Yeah," his voice sounded farther away, he must have put Marvin on speaker phone, "me neither, I just thought you were kinda like that, exciting, scary and new," Whizzer laughed. Did Marvin laugh? Was this the point of the conversation where he laughed? Or did he not laugh, he didn't want to seem like he was trying too hard. Although, obviously he was. It was about nine months ago when this conversation took place.

Had they almost survived a year?

Marvin turned onto the rocky road that led to Mendel's work. He sat in complete silence. If Whizzer was here he would force him to put on the radio. No matter what kind of music it was, Whizzer just wanted to hear it. Marvin smiled, gosh he missed his boyfriend. When was he ever going to see him again? It felt like years since he had last seen him. Was this what being in love felt like?

"Ugh," Marvin muttered under his breath. He pulled his old car into the front of the building. He stopped closing his eyes as he listened to the engine die down. It was a fun little game he liked to play. He would listen to the engine die and count how many seconds it took for it to completely come to a stop. Was that how life was? Cherish the seconds you have?

Marvin shook his head unlocking the door and flinging himself out of his car. Ah yes the daily deep thought. Here it was. Mendel was walking out of the building as Marvin was running in.

"Marvin? What are you doing?" Mendel was surprised to see his client. He was pretty sure he didn't forget about the meeting. They had a meeting two weeks from now, with Whizzer. What was he doing here now?

"I just figured out the meaning of life!" Marvin blurt.

"Oooookkaaay," Mendel turned right around heading to his office, "I guess I could pencil you in for a quick meeting," Mendel smiled. What were friends for?

Apparently, for ranting your deepest thoughts.
