"Admit it, baby. You were jealous of Alice." Ryder chuckled. He was holding a plate of stacked pancakes that he almost put past the border of the cooking area and over the kitchen counter, but decided to place them on the tiled space beside the stove. Which made me get off the stool I was sitting on and ventured to his location.

"I am not!" I denied, stabbing my pancake. I didn't bother taking the plate Ryder gave me to the table, instead, I started munching on it while leaning my hip on the counter beside the sink. "Has she been coming here for a while?" Nope, not jealous. Just curious.

He raised an eyebrow as if to say 'really?' "Yeah, she comes here often, to bring food or after jogging." He smirked. "Huh, are you grilling me for information about her?"

I lifted myself onto the counter. "I was just... Irritated. Her voice was like nail and glass rubbing together." Ryder's pancakes were good and made me reminisce those mornings when we regularly did this. "And no, I wasn't grilling. Also, how did she manage to get in when you have gates that can fry people upon touching it?"

He closed in his face and all I could do was hold my ground. "I gave her a code she can use so that in case of emergency she could call me for help. She shows it to the camera and it scans it. It deactivates the electricity once it confirmed that the code is legitimate and reactivates again as soon as the person enters."

Huh, help with what? "And what kind of help would you give her?" My tone rose a little bit but I doubt he noticed. "Isn't that unsecure, giving access to random people?"

"Somebody broke in her house before and nearly killed her. I just offered a help just in case it happened again." He pursed his lips, "You're right about giving access to the house but once the scanner detects wrong facial recognition or when there is more than one human using the code, it immediately reports to me and the police." He smirked.

I just harrumphed on that one.

He wedged himself between my thighs, hands on either side of my legs. "So jealous, my baby. I've never given her anything to assume that something was going on between us."

His smell combined with the pancakes' made me wanna eat him instead. Whoops, not goin' there.

"She's just a friend. And explain the kiss. In the bedroom earlier, you even turned your face to avoid me kissing you on the lips. It's not that I'm complaining or something."

Your second kiss got me, though.

The thing earlier flashed in my mind, I had time, long enough to wrench the door open and get away. What was I thinking stopping when I heard him close behind me? Obviously my fighting skills were shit to him, so what was the point on taking him on? Was that it, the reason why I stopped turning the door handle was because I knew it was useless to fight?
