Break (A Kylo Ren Fanfic)

XXXXIV

Chaos.

Destruction.

Annihilation.

That's the only way I could describe what happened shortly after the sirens begun.

As soon as we hear the sirens, Argon pulls away from me and his eyes are ablaze with fright and concern.

"What is it?" I ask, genuinely concerned and confused.

"We're being invaded!" Argon explains hurriedly before grabbing my hand and leading me out of the room.

Invaded?

No.

It has to be Kylo...who else would invade?

Of all times, why did he have to come right as I was getting comfortable here? I was just starting to get the information he wanted.

Or was I?

I had been here for longer than I expected and all I have learned was the systems history and very little about their inner workings. I've spent more time getting to know Argon than I have spent spying on the system.

Argon pulls me down a hallway and through a door he swung open so hard i­t­ slammed the wall behind it.

I was struggling not to run faster than him and tripped over my own feet because of how I tried to go slower for him. I hit the ground and pulled Argon with me.

"Cmon we have to go." He said seriously as he shot up and yanked me with him.

"Where are we going?" I asked frantically, looking everywhere to find a way out.

But did I want out? Did I want to leave this comfortable way of life to go back to what I️ wasn't even sure I️ could call a life.

But there was Kylo.

And just the thought of him had my stomach turning but I️ wasn't sure it was in a bad way.

Argon pulled me through a door and shut I️t behind us, locking us in.

"What are you doing?" I️ ask, terrified and worried all at once.

"We're going to stay in here until it's safe." His response angered me.

"You mean to tell me we are going to hide until you're entire village is obliterated?" I️ yell at him, yanking my arm from his grip and walking back to the door.

"We can't go out there! We'll be killed!" His eyes were wide and they looked like they were going to pop out of his head. He was visibly scared and so was I️, but at least I️ wasn't a coward.

I️ didn't know what side I️ was on quite yet, but at least I'd be willing to defend my people.

"So you'd rather sit idle while your people are being killed? I'm sorry but I️ don't stand by that." With that, I️ unlock the door and throw I️t open before taking off into a dead sprint, not looking back once.

I️ wind through the hallways, coming to a point where o know exactly where I️ am and exactly how to get out. The sounds of phasers and guns and screams are becoming louder and louder as I️ get closer to the exit of the main building.

"Lyra, wait!"

I️ ignore argon and bust through the doors and run straight into total war.

The members of this village are fighting the troopers with all that they have. Men, women, and even teenagers are armed and fighting as best they can. But they are no match for the number of troopers they are up against.
