A/N: there is a very important note at the end of the chapter regarding a possible other book so please read it. I hope you enjoy!

*just started dating, taking things slow (haven't had sex yet)*

He started the engine.

After a long day on the job, all Jay wanted to do was spend time with his girl. To be honest, it's all he ever wanted to do, but especially after work.

Spending time with her was the best part of his day, he looked forward to it. She could always find a way to make him relax and take his mind off things, in more way than one. She was his anchor to reality.

He pushed 'floor 3' on the elevator button.

The day they started going out was the day he got significantly better. Spending time with her was like a little safe haven from their daily lives of violence and sadness. Everyday they saw families ripped apart, it was nice to be together at the end of the day.

He knocked on apartment door number 315.

He felt like the luckiest guy in the world with her, he couldn't get any luckier. He fell in love, and he fell hard.

The door opened and there were those dimples. His girls dimples.

She was wearing leggings, a baggy sweatshirt, a makeup free face, and hair wet from the shower. She looked amazing.

"Hi," she said in the raspy voice that he loves.

"Hey," he said walking in and wrapping his arms around her waist before giving her a gentle kiss.

When the released, he headed for the couch as she grabbed two beers for them.

"I ordered our usual from that Chinese place down the street," she said sitting down next to him.

••••••••

After dinner they decided to watch a movie since it was only 8 o'clock. Erin got up to grab another beer, but decided to take of her sweatshirt since it was getting too hot.

"Hey Er, you want to grab me another-" he said as he turned to look at her.

He stopped short. What his eyes landed on was infuriating. He couldn't believe it. Poking out of the top of her tank top was small circular scars. And he knew exactly what they were.

"Jay what's the matter?" she asked as he got of from the couch and stood in dont of her.

He reached towards the neckline of the tank top and pulled it to the side. Revealing four small cigarette burns. Just under her collarbone.

She quickly pulled her tank top back and tried putting on her sweatshirt again. She had forgotten the scars had been visible in the tank top. But Jay stopped her. He took the sweatshirt and laid it on the back of the couch and then pulled the tank top away again.

"Er, what happened?"

Her head immediately shot down in embarrassment. She didn't want to talk about it. It was an embarrassing part of her past and she hated herself for it. But he had a right to know, they were dating now.

"Erin?" He asked as he lifted her chin to meet him. "Please tell me."

"I uh, it was before I moved in with Hank. I was staying with Charlie. I was a lot younger then him and I was stupid and I thought I was in love. He had a serious drinking problem, and when he would get high he would get super angry. Most of the time he would just yell or hit me but sometimes he did this."

He gently ran his fingers over the marks. Who knew four little burn scars could make him so angry.

"Are....are there anymore?"

She slowly nodded.

Then she reached for the hem of her tank top and pulled it over her head.

She pointed to her left hip and there were four more burns, then turned around and pulled her hair away to reveal four more between her shoulder blades.

When she turned back around, Jay pulled her into a tight hug, kissing the side of her head.

••••••••

As Jay climbed into bed after coming out of the bathroom, Erin was already in bed, facing away from him.

As he wrapped his arms around her, she held tightly to his hands. He thought she was asleep until she asked something that made him snap awake.

"Do you still love me?"

"What?" He asked in disbelief.

"Do you still love me?" She repeated. "After all of this?"

He leaned up so he was slightly leaning over her, as she tuned flat on her back to stare up at him. He could see her face now. She looked scared.

"Are you kidding me?"

She slightly shook her head.

"Of course i still love you Erin. I've always loved you and I always will, nothing will change that."

She still looked unsure.

He leaned down and gave her a tender kiss. Then he leaned down and kissed the burns on her chest. He then locked eyes with her, one hand stroking the side of her face.

"Of course I still love you Erin. Nothing will change that. Partners for life remember?"

He smirked at her, and she mirrored his expression.

"Partners for life," she confirmed.

How would you guys feel if I started a book about of Erin and Jay were in high school? Would you want it? I have a pretty good storyline and idea in my head so let me know if you would want that. That wouldn't mean i would end this book, I would just alternate between updates. Let me know in the comments!
