Elise's POV

I laid in the hospital bed knowing it was my last day on this beautiful Earth.

Sid sat next to my bed holding my hand. On the other side our 5 year old son Sidney Patrick Crosby Jr.

Sid cried "Elise please don't leave me I can't raise 3 kids all by myself! And I can't live without you!"

I smiled "Sid I won't leave you! I will always be in your heart! I will always be watching over you and making sure your safe!"

He cried even more "Elise I know your ready to let go but I'm scared!" I smiled and squeezed his hand "I know... I know you are! I know you are scared of letting me go and that's okay! There is life after me Sid! You have 3 beautiful kids to remind you of that! You have Sidney, Jensen(In honor of Elise's late brother), and Kaylee. When I'm gone be a great father that I know you are! I know it will be hard but please do it for me!"

Sid cried "I will I promise! I'll try! I'll try for you!" I groaned "Sid?" He spoke up "Yes?"

I smiled "I love you!" He smiled "I love you too!" Then we shared one last kiss. He held my hand and we sat in silence. Then the heart monitor started beeping then it stopped. That's the day the world let me go.

Sid's POV

I sat in Elise and I old house. I never remarried or even took out a girl on a date after Elise died. Even though she insisted when she passed to find someone else. I never did because I knew I could never find someone as perfect as her.

I decided to visit my father-in-law Mario.

I showed up at his door step and he kindly invited me in.

He smiled "What's up Sidney?" I slightly smiled "Can we talk about Elise?"

He nodded "Sure, what about it?" I frowned "Why her? Why did God pick her?"

Mario smiled "I'm not sure. I have asked myself that question for years. I always could only come up with two answers."

I slightly nodded "And that is?" He smiled "Heaven needs it's hero's just like earth does."

I nodded "And what's your other theory?"

He smiled "When you pick flowers from a garden you pick the best ones... the new ones... the nice and pretty ones... God just decided that day he wanted to pick the best flower... that flower was my baby girl."

I nodded "Who was my wife." Mario nodded "Yes and she would be proud of how great of a father you are."

I smiled but then asked "Why did you never remarry after Elise died?"

He cleared his throat "I saw woman on the streets, I saw super models ,but none of them were Ann. Everyone I would compare to her but they never pleased me. I never saw myself with someone else... You see Sidney there is a difference between love and true love. Love is until the day you die. True love is carried with you after death."

I smiled "Thank you Mario!" He smiled and gave me a hug "Anytime Sid... See you and my grandkids on Sunday."

I nodded "See you on Sunday."

Narrator's POV

Some of us have to die in order for others to live their life. When Elise died he didn't have her constant appointments and treatments to hold him back. He didn't have the pain of watching her suffer hold him back on the joy of life. The world works in it's mysterious ways. We may not see it but we all have to except it whether we like it or not.
