Something I Haven't Felt In Years

Sid's POV

I ran and packed my bags. I heard a knock on my door and I yelled "Come in." Taylor walked in "What's wrong Sid."

I sighed "Elise got in a fight with Kris. She ran away and they can't find her."

Taylor's eyes widened and she helped me pack. I heard my phone buzz. I looked down at the caller ID and saw Mario.

I picked up "Hey Mario did you find her?" Mario spoke up "Yeah we did."

I smiled "Oh that's good!" He chocked
out "Yeah it is but we are taking her to the hospital... she sat out in the freezing rain for hours next to her mother's grave."

I frowned and chocked "Is she going to be...okay?" He sighed "Sid I can't answer that..."

I started to cry "I'll see you soon Mario keep her safe until I get there." We both hung up and I started crying even more.

Taylor gave me a hug she knew I wasn't one to cry. She rubbed my back "Sid what's wrong?"

I cried "They are taking her to the hospital!" Taylor sighed "Okay calm down we need to pack your bags so you can be with her. She needs you!"

I nodded packed my bags and told Taylor to tell my mom and dad that I left.

When I arrived at the airport I got a direct flight to Pittsburgh. I got Catherine to pick me up for when I landed.

Jensen's POV

I sat in the waiting room. The doctor came out and looked around "Mr.Lemieux?!"

My dad spoke up "That's me!" The doctor walked over and my dad spoke up "So how is she?"

The doctor gave him a slight smile "The body shuts down to try and protect it's self sometimes. That is what happened to Elise. Her body thought it was in danger so it shut down. She will be fine. Expect her to wake up in a few hours. You can see her but I have also taken notice she has stomach cancer and her appointment is later so we will take her early and then let her go home."

My dad smiled "Thank you! Now may I see her?" The doctor nodded and took us to her room.

The doctor walked in and spoke up "I'll be back in about 5 hours. If anything happens get one of the nurses."

After that the doctor left. I sighed and looked at my dad "That was a close one."

He nodded "Yeah it was... Your brother is suppose to come by the way don't try and kill him. I know your mad but you have to try not to for Elise's sake."

1 hour no Kris... 2 hours no Kris... 3 hours no Kris. Then there was a knock on the door.

I yelled "Come in!" The door knob twisted and opened. Catherine walked in with the boys and Sid.

She looked around the room "Where is Kris?" My dad sighed "He didn't show up... He was suppose to come.

Sid walked up to Elise a grabbed the other hand of her's I wasn't holding.

Sid started to talk to her "Come on Elise don't give up on us!---" Alex walked up "Shhh Uncle Sid she's sleeping!"

Alex was only little and was not aware of what was going on or Elise's health conditions.

Catherine walked up and grabbed him and spoke in a hushed voice "Listen baby let Uncle Sid talk to her because she is... sick... and then you can give your Auntie a hug. Maybe that will make her feel better."

Alex nodded but still looked confused "Why don't she just take medicine? Then she all better!"

Catherine sighed "Buddy it doesn't work like that." I smiled "Catherine can I talk to him?"

Catherine nodded "If course." She took Alex and sat him on my lap.

Alex looked up at me and I smiled. I spoke up "You know how Auntie Elise is sick?" He nodded "Yes, by why she not better?"

I let a soft smile rest on my face "Auntie Elise wants to get better but it's like when you want your favorite toy but your dad won't die it for you. You try to get it and trick him but it doesn't work no matter what you do."

Alex nodded "Uncle Jensen..." I smiled "Yes Alex?" He frowned "Why papa not here if Elise sick?"

I frowned "I don't know buddy... I think papa is a little upset right now and wants to be left alone."

Alex frowned "Okay." I gave him a hug and he wrapped his arms around me and rested his head on my stomach.

Elise's POV

All of a sudden I woke up crying and screaming. I had the worst nightmare my mother died and years later I got diagnosed with cancer. I tore my family apart... well that's what Kris told me. We had an argument about it and everything went wrong.

The worst part was that dream was reality. I felt arms wrap around my waist.

Someone whispered "You're good! Everything is going to be okay!"

I looked and saw Sid. I lifted his head "Aren't you suppose to be in Canada?" He crossed his arms "Aren't you suppose to be taking your meds and not running off."

I sighed "How do you know I wasn't taking my meds?!" Jensen spoke up "I told him! The deal we had is if you took them I wouldn't tell anyone you stopped taking them. But you didn't take them today!"

I frowned "It wasn't a dream was it? The fight!"

Jensen nodded "It wasn't a dream... listen Elise he didn't mean what he said---"

I shook my head "No he meant every word that's why he said it. He meant what he said but he might regret it."

Jensen frowned "Let him explain himself." I nodded "Fine where is he?"

Catherine cleared her throat "He didn't show up." I shook my head in disappointment.

Jensen spoke up "What about tomorrow or next week?" I shook my head "I leave on Thursday to Saudi Arabia."

Jensen's eyes widened "So do I... wait how long are you going?!" I shrugged "Only 2 months. You?"

He sighed "A 16 months... so a year and 4 months."

My dad cut in "You were going to leave and not tell anyone." I groaned "I was I just didn't get the chance to because of the fight!"

My dad nodded "I'm sorry about that Elise. He wasn't right at all. He isn't trying to keep the family together. You can't break something that already was broken. The moment our family started to fall apart is when your mother was diagnosed. We are still hanging on. It's just hard to see you in pain. His way of taking out his frustration is yelling at someone... But he loves you and that's a promise."

I sighed "Thank you dad put can we talk about something else?"

So the rest of the day went by Sid never left my side until I had to get treatment.

Then later on everyone sleep over my house. Sid and I cuddled up the rest of the night.

Just when I was about to fall asleep Sod whispered "I love you Elise and I won't let anyone hurt you like that again."

That night I feel asleep feeling protected and loved by someone. Something I haven't felt in years.
