His gaze remained fixed on mine, waiting for some kind of reaction, but I just remained silent. "I'm just messing with you." He chuckled.

"Don't you dare hurt her." My voice dropped and he stared at me in confusion. "What are you talking about?" his hand reached for my arm but I pushed it away.

"Don't play with Yoona's feelings like you do with others. She's not someone for you to use and then break her heart." his body became stiff at my words and he looked away.

I knew it. He's not being true with his feelings. Instead he's just using her only to break her heart right after.

I turned my body and before I could take a step his voice broke the silence. "I like her." My muscles are frozen in place but filled with such a tingling pressure that I want to run until my body is empty.

"What?" A shaky breath escaped my lips as I looked at him in disbelief. His face was dead serious but his eyes had a glint in them.

"I like Yoona." My head was spinning as I tried to understand what was happening but my brain was too fried to analyse the situation.

My subconscious says that I need to stop hurting myself but my heart says a completely different thing. I've gone too far to give up now.

That's what he wants me to do but I'm not going to give him that satisfaction. I'll keep going until the end of the contract and then I can finally get out of his life.

"You're lying. You just-" Suddenly a knock on the door was heard. He locked at me before opening the door. Revealing the last person I was waiting for.

"Baby." Yoona whined before jumping to his arms and leaning forward to kiss him. Gross. I rolled my eyes and cleared my throat catching both their attentions.

"Hello, y/n." She beamed happily and pulled me into a tight hug. "I'm here to spend the night with Yoongi." Her eyes filled with joy as she spoke.

"I should leave you two alone then." She grabbed my hand preventing me from going any further. "I want you to have dinner with us." I looked at her in disbelief and she pouted at me as if trying to convince me.

"Alright." I sighed and she squealed before hugging me once again. I could feel Yoongi's stare but I didn't dare to look back at him. He's probably not happy with my decision but I couldn't care less.

I want to find out if he truly likes her so this is my chance. Make the best use of it, y/n. Another chance like this may never show up again.

"Let's go then." She exclaimed before dragging me to the kitchen. Yoongi followed right behind us without saying a single word.

[...]

The tension was felt in the air as Yoongi sat in front of me with Yoona on his side. "How's the fake relationship going?" Yoona's voice sounded and I kept silent almost as if I were thinking carefully before answering. Yoongi's gaze was focused on me.

His face remained serious as he waited for my answer but I never gave it away. Too distracted on his intense gaze that seemed to read all of my thoughts.

"I-" I began talking but was soon interrupted by a loud knock on the door. I excused myself and went to open the door.

"Jae? What are you doing here?" Before I could stop him he had already entered and gone to the kitchen. I hurried to follow him and as soon as I entered the kitchen I was met by Jae's confused look.

Yoongi's hand was clutching Yoona's as Jae looked at both of them. "Is that your boyfriend?" He stared at me curiously and I felt my heart stop with the thought of him finding everything out.

"He's my friend." I stammered. His gaze was filled with confusion as he grabbed my hand. "Can I talk with you? Privately?" I nodded before looking over my shoulder.

Yoongi stared at me with his fists clenched and I immediately dragged Jae out of the kitchen before he could say anything else.

A sigh of relief escaped my lips as we reached the garden. "Y/N." Unexpectedly, his hand drifted to my hip. It settled there and pulled me closer. I inhaled sharply as I felt his warm chest.

I splayed my hand against it, intending to push him away, but instead I left it there. "I like you." His voice sounding in a whisper. I urged myself to push away, but couldn't. My limp body began to tremble uncontrollably. His head was angled slightly to the side as his lips came closer and closer to mine.

I was surprised to find my own lips parted. Our breaths mingled. My eyes were closed as I waited for him to kiss me. But that never happened.

His body was abruptly pulled away from mine.
