                                                      " My Sister's Keeper"

    I pulled up to my brother's house and I felt kind of nervous. I don't really know why I feel this cause I can always talk to my brother. He just hasn't really been himself lately and I need to know what is going on with him. I got out the car and went to the door. Aubrey was on a business call so I would have time to sit and talk with Shad. I waited after ringing the door bell twice for my brother to finally open the door.

" Hey big head come in. I'm cooking so come to the kitchen." He said. My brother could throw down in the kitchen. It was smelling so good up in here. My stomach started growling letting me know I was hungry.

   "  Smells good up in here bro. I just wanted to check on you. You haven't been around a lot lately I miss you." I said feeling myself getting teary eyed.

   Shad started turning off pots and then came around the counter to give me a big hug. My brother and my kids are my life. Aubrey is too but my brother is my everything. He has been more like a father to me. He has been my rock and my biggest supporter.

  As the tears began to fall it hit me how much I really miss my brother's presents around me. It's like he is here but not really here.

  " Look Des you know I love you more than anything in this world besides my kids and my nieces. I just needed time to deal with all the new changes in our lives. We have been through so much and now finding out that we have a sister that is older than me is a bit much. Like why now is she showing up? What are her real motives? I feel like it is more to her story than she is telling us. You being you I know you wanna get to know her just like you did with Carlos but I don't know how I really feel about that. Something just don't feel right Des." He said going back to cooking.

  " Well you sound like Shakeya now. She not really digging Lexi either. Hell she jumped on her. They also had the baby can you believe that. You might want to go see your new nephew grow up so that means you have to be around more." I said wiping away tears.

  "  Word I will. Plus I'm trying to deal with meeting my son that I didn't even know I had. Kelly really did some bullshit Des. You know I'm not that type of nigga to not take care of mines. The kids been missing their mom and I miss my wife. I'm still trying to find out who killed Desaundra. I just been trying to figure some shit out sis that's all. You know I'm always on ya team but we need to look into Lexi before we just invite her into our lives ya dig." He said.

   I totally understand him and his not being around makes sense now. We were talking and laughing when Aubrey came in.

   "What up bro?" Shad said dapping up Aubrey.

    " Nothing much bro. Just working trying to keep ya sister and your nieces happy. You know my work is never done with that." He said to Shad but looking at me.

  "I hear that. I heard the new album gonna be a banger. You doing ya numbers wit the music but you Drizzy Drake so that's to be expected." Shad said tasting food.

It felt just like old times. We actually ate with Shad and the kids. We laughed and talked more about everything. I help put the kids to bed then the conversation turned back serious.

" Do y'all think that August knew Lexi was our sister? How do you think she ended up with him?" Shad asked lighting up a blunt.

" I don't think so cause the look on his face when he found out I was the sister she was talking about said it all. Do you think she knew about us and she is after something?" I asked Shad.
