Elliot Snow has graced us with her presence.

"What?"

"Nate! Where have you been man? You missed all the good rides. We had so much...sorry. Did I interrupt something?" Luke walked up to us. I was still wearing Nate's jacket and we had unintentionally leaned close enough to each other to kiss.

"No." Nate said it so calmly. "We were just talking and we got distracted. Ava actually has some good stories."

"You make it sound like you expected different." I crossed my arms over my chest as I leaned back casually.

"Never." He gasped.

"So, are you coming with us?" Luke asked.

"I think I'm going to stay." Nate said thoughtfully. "I still haven't beaten my ticket record, and I owe Ava a new teddy bear."

"No you..." Luke didn't hear me, and Nate ignored me.

"Okay then." Luke said. "I'll see you at school."

"Bye Luke. Bye guys." Nate waved at his friends as they left us alone, all snickering.

"You don't owe me anything." I said.

"Yes, I do. Let's go play some games." And we did. We played games until Nate's ticket count was double what he had before. Then he gave me his prize, the biggest one there, a teddy bear that looked exactly like the one I had given him as a joke.

"You don't have to."

"Yes, I already told you I did, especially since you gave me that teddy camera. It's fun to use on my brother when he wants privacy. I put it on my bed and he has no idea." Nate laughed.

"Well, it was your birthday present. I felt bad taking it from you."

"Even though you won it fairly." He said sarcastically.

"You still have the bear, don't you? So technically, I still kept the deal fair."

"Fine. Do you need a ride home? It's dark out and I'm assuming you walked here."

"You don't know me as well as you think. I could've gotten a ride, or biked."

"You walked, didn't you?"

"Yes." I said sheepishly.

"And you need a ride?"

"If you don't mind."

"Not at all. Come on, my mom should be outside."

"Your mom!" I stopped him in the lobby. "You are going to make me meet your mom?"

"Why do you seem so scared?"

"Nate..." He didn't seem worried. "...your mom is going to get the wrong idea after a while of this."

"Why, you're my friend, and I like hanging out with friends. Plus, it's too late, I already texted her saying that you're coming with us."

"What!? You didn't even know I needed a ride until a minute ago." He just winked as a horn honked and his mom's car pulled up.

"Just come, it'll be fine."

It wasn't fine. His mom asked all sort's of questions and I had a hard time answering them all. And despite what Nate said about just being friends, she didn't look at me like she believed it.

It was only five o'clock when I got home and I was glad for the excuse not to answer the rest of Nate's mom's questions. But I was only left alone for a few seconds until Vic came up to me and started asking her own questions.
