   That was weird. What had I done to annoy James? I was new and hadn't harmed a soul. I tried to ignore it and I began to run to the team room to changed for cross country. Despite starting school a month into school I was allowed to join the XC team. I used to run all the time in California and I feel in love with it early on. I usually would do soccer in the fall but I decided to change it up. When I got into the room I walked to the corner where my bag was and began to switch clothes. A few girls were staring at me, "You must be that new girl" one with short brown hair said. "I think her name was Daisy, that's your name right?" A girl with braces and long dirty blond hair said." Yeah that's me." I said with a brisk smile. The girl with short brown hair smiled "I'm Lucy, this is Emilia (long dirty blond hair), this is Skylar (girl with medium length black hair), and this is Brynn(long black hair with pink streaks)." I smiled and did a little wave," Hey" "i heard you were like really good at running." Skylar said with wide eyes. " Yeah I did too." Said Emilia. I blushed," I'm okay at running, I never really did cross country. But I did track." I said. The girls all smiled and nodded.
-------skip to near end of practice------
   Today was a pre meet day meaning the run wasn't too bad. But the guys and most of the girls have taken off their shirts. Don't worry though the girls obviously had on sports bras. I decided to keep my shirt on but I was sweating pretty bad. So I decided to just take it off. When we began to approach the high school I heard Oliver shout "Ooo Daisy look at you being all scandalous!" The girls around me laughed. I turned around and stuck my tongue out at him and he grabbed his bare chest with shock and then smiled. I then saw Matthew behind him and I smiled. He then gave me a small smirk back and he checked me out. I looked forward and blushed. Out of no where James appeared in football gear. My heart dropped and I tried to avoid eye contact. As I ran by him he tripped me causing me to fall. My knee busted open and my hands dripped with blood. What is his problem with me? I've done nothing to him but he has it. Suddenly Oliver sprinted to me and dropped to his knees" Are you okay?" He looks genuinely concerned. "I'm fine" I said with my hands cradling my knee. Matthew showed up and glared at James "What the fuck was that?" He hissed walking closer to James. "Well can't you tell she's nothing but a dumb bitch who expects everything." He hissed glaring at me. Oliver stood up and punched James in the face. "Are you fucking kidding me you piece of shit, she's been nice to everyone and she hasn't done a thing to you!" Oliver screamed. James stood there holding his nose, with a grunt he walked away. Oliver picked me up bridal style and brought me inside with a concerned Matthew following him. He put me down "I'll be back, I'm going to get some bandaids and something to clean up you knee." He ran off leaving me with Matthew.  "Are you sure you are okay?" Breaking the silence. "Yeah" I said "but I have a question." "Shoot" he said. "What does James have against me? I haven't done a thing to him." He shrugged his shoulders," I don't know, he's been acting strange lately". We sat there until Oliver came with a first aid kit" Doctor Sykes here to see you now!" He said with his chest puffed. I laughed " no way is your last name Sykes!" "Oh it is" Matthew budded in. Oliver started to wrap up my knee and I bit the inside of my cheek to keep from screaming. Oliver noticed my discomfort" Sorry, I'm not trying to hurt you." He frowned at my knee. After getting my knee wrapped up i stood but yelped in pain. Matthew grabbed me "Take it easy there blondie." I guess I never described myself, I have long blonde hair, with blue eyes. I'm 5'3 and relatively thin. Oliver and Matt made me sit down. I crossed my arms "I mean I'm going to have to get up eventually." I declared to the two. " we could always carry you." Oliver offered. I shook my head and attempted to stand up, Matt grabbed my hand and raised his eyebrow as if to say stop. I got up and scrunched up my face. Oliver shook his head "nope you aren't walking." He then bend down "get on my back." "I'll be okay Oli." I said he turned around "ooo I like my new nickname flower girl, but get on my back." I rolled my eyes and did as I was told. "Are you on my back?" "Haha very funny" I said with trying not to laugh. Matt let out a little chuckle. With that we went and told the coach who told me if it still hurt tomorrow I should just sit out the meet. I frowned. "You got a ride home blondie?" Matt asked. "No i can walk home I'm not too far away." " I'll give you a ride home." A smiling Lucy said. "How's your knee by the way I saw it happen I was going to do something but I saw you have two body guards here." She said winking at me. "Perfect" Oliver said putting me down. " see you tomorrow flower girl!" With that he left, "Bye Daisy" Matt said with that damn smile of his." Bye Matt" I said his eyebrows raised and he smiled walking away. "Ready?" Lucy asked. "Yeah, thank you for driving me home by the way, normally I can walk but..." I looked down at my knee. She laughed and led me to her car. When she started driving she started up a conversation"so which one do you like?" "What?" I asked raising my eyebrows. "Come on don't lie, do you like both of them?" "Umm..I just met the both of them." I said trying to hide my discomfort. "Fine be that way. But I personally think you and Oliver would be cute together he clearly likes you, but you and matt would also be a little power couple honestly." I laughed and she soon joined me. As we pulled up to my house I said again "Thank you, really I appreciate it." " of course see you tomorrow, ice your knee so you can be in the meet!" She drove away and I went inside. My mother wasn't home not a big surprise.
