(Skip two weeks ahead to Halloween)
*pov of Daisy*
Halloween. A time of year when people don't have to be themselves. I've always loved Halloween but I rarely dress up anymore. As I approached school I saw everyone dressed up, the costumes all varied. There were witches, sexy witches, animals, and even some famous people. It all amazed me.
Everyone was dressed up. Then there was me. The person with a Bring Me The Horizon shirt, suicide season to add some festivities, and black skinny jeans. Despite not being full on emo I had some similarities to them.
"Hey Daisy!" I turned around to see a Dorothy behind me, ruby slippers and all. I recognized Dorothy to be none other than Mary," Hey Mary!"
"So are you excited for Oliver's Halloween party tonight?" She smiled. What Halloween party? He didn't invite me. There goes a perfect 2 weeks down the drain.
"Uh he didn't invite me to it." She frowned. No one knew about Oli and I besides our close friends, despite Mary being a friend of mine Oli wasn't a fan. I guess she was too nice. So why would he invite her over me?
"That's a shame, I really hoped you would be there. I thought Oliver liked you but I guess I was wrong." She skipped off all chipper.
While she was cheery, I became miserable. I stomped my way into Spanish class and sat down. I decided to keep my earbuds in since all we were doing was watching a movie in Spanish.
Thankfully James and Chris switched seats, meaning I wasn't bothered as often by James. The teacher caught on when he shoved me into the wall and called me a 'dumb slut'.
Chris was dressed up as snoopy, I wonder if Elizabeth was that yellow bird thing. I always forget the name what was it? Oh yeah Woodstock.
Chris looked over at me and said something but my music was blaring. I decided to listen to Pity Party by Melanie Martinez.
Did my invitations disappear? Maybe my invitation to Olivers party disappeared. No probably not. He must be done with me, I mean I'm surprised it lasted even two weeks. I'm a freaking potato. Ha.
Chris nudged me. What did he want. I took out an earbud and raised an eyebrow. "Are you going to Oli's party later?" He asked smirking. It seems like everyone was invited but me.
"Um no?" I said trying not to sound upset. He gave me a weird look," but you're his girl." He shook his head and looked at the screen. And I turned up my music. Today was not going to be a good day.
I decided to sit alone in a far corner so no one I knew could find me. Call me dramatic but I sometimes needed my alone time. My phone started to buzz, it was Oli. I ignored it. Not in the mood today. He called two more times before giving up.
Where are you babe? He texted, should I respond? I gave in. At lunch. I texted back, I could feel him rolling his eyes at that response. Way to state the obvious. But I mean i don't see you, where are you? I want to see that cute little face of yours. I scoffed at the response. Is he serious?Well you can see this "cute little face" at chorus. I sent it, it seemed to shut him up. Hopefully Oli and I don't have to be locked in the supposed sound proof booth alone together. Lunch ended time to go.
I walked into chorus and smiled at Miss. Baxter making my way to my seat next to Mary. Her hair was still perfect, how much hair spray did she used? Oliver shuffled in last minute and looked at me but I decided to ignore him.
Maybe I'm taking this too seriously, but maybe I'm not. The battle in my head continued of whether I should talk to him or not. He held my hand. Is he serious? I let him though, just because my hands were cold.
"Okay class so even though it's Halloween and usually we watch a movie or something I decided we need to practice. The concert is a six weeks away! And the duet doesn't seem to be ready yet.." My cheeks became bright red at that statement.
"Daisy and Oli into the sound booth, and if you both figured it out. I've been listening in, you both sound good but get distracted easily. It's probably a joke on me since you figured it out. So I will not listen in this time. But focus!"
I stood up and rolled my eyes and scurried into the sound booth. I could feel Oliver smiling. Not today. "Is everything okay with you babe?" He looked at me concerned, he was dressed as a dog which made it difficult to take him seriously.
"We need to practice." I said dodging the question.i started to play the song for him to begin but he stopped it.
"What's wrong? And we both know we are as ready as we will ever be." He grabbed both of my arms and looked at me in the eyes. I looked away, trying not to show him I was about to cry.
"If you don't talk I can't help you." He let go and we began to sing. It sounded really good on his part but I couldn't keep it together. At this point I sound wicked dramatic but I'm just a sensitive person.
He stopped once again. "What is it? D-did you cheat on me? Or do you want to break up?" I heard his voice crack. It was extremely sad I could handle this.
" No Oli i really like you. It's just I mean it hurt my feelings you didn't invite me to your party while you have the whole school coming besides me."
He kinda had a sigh of relief. But he then had a blank stare. "Fuck." He mumbled. He was mad at me for being this way, of course. "I knew I forgot someone." Ouch.
"Hey, flower girl, wanna come to my Halloween party later? You must dress up tho. Unless your costume is emo girl." He smirked at me with the sly comment.
I rolled my eyes. "Sure, but you are picking me up or bringing me to your house with you."
