Josh woke up to the sound of an alarm.

It was early morning when the alarm went off. Soft yellow light filtered through the window. It would have been peaceful, had it not been for the loud siren shattering Josh's eardrums.

The piercing shriek made Josh sit bolt upright in his bed and put his hands over his ears. He squeezed his eyes shut and winced. The ear splitting, deafening siren made his head pound.

Still groggy from sleep, it took him a moment to realize what that alarm meant.

Intruders. Headquarters was under attack.

Josh opened his eyes looked over to his side, expecting to see a certain someone sitting next to him.

Tyler was gone.

Josh threw back the covers and practically leaped out of bed. He hastily pulled on a pair of jeans and boots before yanking his bedroom door open. He didn't even bother putting on a shirt to cover his scars.

As soon as he opened the door, the shrill siren became even louder. It made Josh's ears ring and almost bleed.

Headquarters was in chaos. Clique members were frantically running back and forth, fumbling with their weapons and screaming words at each other over the alarm.

Josh was disoriented at first. The scene in front of him was so overwhelming, the sound of the alarm was so loud, Josh could barely hear himself think.

He shook his head and forced himself to focus. There were intruders in the building. Lots of them.

A familiar face suddenly ran past Josh, and he reached out and grabbed their arm to stop them.

"Donnie!" Josh shouted, yanking the man over to him. His words were almost drowned out by the sound of the alarm.

The man in front of him-none other than Donnie the Catcher-looked just as disoriented as he was. He shook his head, and his mouth dropped open slightly.

"What's going on?!" Josh shouted, gripping Donnie's arm tightly.

"K-Killjoys, sir!" Donnie replied through gasps of air. He was out of breath from running. Where he was running, Josh didn't know, but he obviously looked like he was panicking.

Josh narrowed his eyes in confusion. "What the fuck is a Killjoy?!" He yelled.

"N-No time to explain!" Donnie shook his head and yanked his arm out of Josh's grasp. He bounced up and down on his heels, like he was anxious to start running again.

"They've got Mad Gear."

Usually, Josh would love to see Tyler on his knees, with a gag in his mouth and his hands tied behind his back.

But this. This was his worst nightmare. Worse than the night terrors that haunted his dreams every night. Much, much worse.

Almost the entire Clique was gathered in the pit. Some were on the second floor looking down from the railing, others were hiding in the hallways on the sides.
