"Your car is nice." I compliment as we drive down the road. "Thanks. I got it last year." He replies and pulls into a driveway. "Are you parents home?" I ask Michael. I just need to be prepared to meet them if they're home.
"Uh, actually they're on some sort of business trip or some shit. So it's just us i guess." Michael tells me and gets out. I open my door and follow him up the steps. "I like your house."
"Thanks. Uhm, living room or bedroom?" He questions.
"Whatever you're most comfortable with." I reply.
"My room has all my shit in it. So we'll go in there." He laughs and pulls me up the stairs. He stops at the tops and curses. "Shit, aren't i supposed to ask if you want something to drink? Sorry, i don't have many girls over. Do you want something?" He rushes.
I laugh, "I'm okay, Michael." He sighs, "Good. Now let's go." He tells me and pulls me into a room. "This room is surprisingly clean for a teenage boy's room." I joke.
"I know, right? I just prefer the cleanness." He laughs, clearly embarrassed.
Thirty minutes later Michael has me laughing to the point of where i'm crying and i fear that i'll pee my pants. "Aren't we supposed to be working?" I make out between laughs. "Yeah, but laughing and joking around is more fun." He smiles and nudges my arm.
"You're right. I can't remember the last time i laughed like this!" I exclaim and lean on his shoulder for support. "Want to hear another joke?" He questions and wipes his eyes. I nod.
"A family is at the dinner table. The son asks the father, "Dad, how many kinds of boobs are there?" The father, surprised, answers, "Well, son, a woman goes through three phases. In her 20s, a woman's breasts are like melons, round and firm. In her 30s and 40s, they are like pears, still nice, hanging a bit. After 50, they are like onions." "Onions?" the son asks. "Yes. You see them and they make you cry." This infuriated his wife and daughter. The daughter asks, "Mom, how many different kinds of willies are there?" The mother smiles and says, "Well, dear, a man goes through three phases also. In his 20s, his willy is like an oak tree, mighty and hard. In his 30s and 40s, it's like a birch, flexible but reliable. After his 50s, it's like a Christmas tree." "A Christmas tree?" the daughter asks. "Yes, dead from the root up and the balls are just for decoration." He finishes.
I burst into a fit of laughter, grabbing my stomach. I didn't expect it to be this funny, but oh my god. A weird sound comes from my mouth making Michael snort.
"Wait... Wait, i got one!" I exclaim, he nods for me to go on.
"What happens to a frog's car when it breaks down?" I pause.
"It gets toad away." I finish my corny joke and laugh even harder at Michael's reaction. "You... Are my new best friend, Maddie." He tells me and slings an arm around my shoulder. "Yay, now i have two friends!" I exclaim and hug him. I can slowly feel myself sliding out of my quiet shell in front of Michael.
"Michael yo-" He cuts me off.
"Just call me Mike or Mikey."
"Oh okay. Mikey, you are awesome." I smile.
"Well, Miss Maddie, you are awesome too." Mikey replies and hugs me back. Someone laughs from the doorway, scaring the living daylights out of Mikey and i.
"Oh my god! Ash! What are you doing here?" I exclaim once i see my best friend. "I should be asking you the same thing, Mads." Ashton replies with a weird look on his face. "How do you two know each other?" He asks Michael.
"Math class."
"Why are you here, Maddie? And why are you hugging Mike?"
"Well i was supposed to be tutoring him. But we kind of got sidetracked." I reply and sunk back into my shell. "And Mikey is my new best friend..." Ashton nods and laughs. "Cool, cool. I was just comin' over to hang with Mike. Now i can hang with the both of you." He says and pulls out a cigarette, then tossing one to Michael.
"You don't mind, right?" He asks me.
I shake my head. I hate those things so much. My mum always blows the smoke into my face. Ashton knows this, but i tell him not to worry. I don't have control over what he does.
"Do you care if i call Cal and Luke over?" Ashton asks Mikey. Mikey shakes his head and takes a drag off the death stick. "I just texted them, they'll be here in a minute. Maddie," Ash turns to me, "Have you met Calum and Luke?"
"Yeah i did before." I reply and sink back into my chair. Luckily i don't have to go home. But i don't have any clothes for tomorrow... I'll just ask Ashton for a shirt and i'll wear the shoes and leggings i wore today.
"Ash?" I call before he walk out of the bedroom door.
"Mhmm?"
"Can i stay at your place tonight..?"
"Wh- Oh, yeah. Sure, of course." He replies quickly and leaves the room. I sigh in relief and look at Mike. "Wanna take this party downstairs? It'll be less crowded." He tells me. "Sure." I say quietly.
He helps me from the comfy chair and pulls me out of his clean room. "Luke! Calum! You're already here! And you've met before, but here's Maddie!" He exclaims and pushes me towards them.
"Hey.." I mumble and wave slightly. I walk over and take a seat on the couch opposite from Ashton. Michael sits next to Ash, so does Calum. Luke smiles and sits next to me.
Luke is extremely close, i can smell him. And let me tell you, it's amazing. His scent is a mix of mint and cigarettes. It's enchanting. Luke's hair is pushed up and swept to the side, making it look perfect. He is wearing a black shirt and tight jeans. Man, he looks hot.
Since when did i start thinking like this? I've never had a boyfriend, my first kiss, my first date, nothing! I am such a loser. But i can't really go out because my mum makes me stay in all the time. Except for when she doesn't want me to be around when she is with guys.
"So, Maddie, how are you?" Calum asks while taking a drag of Ashton's cigarette. "I'm.. good. How about you guys?" i ask all of them. "I'm great." Mikey says. "Same." Ashton smiles.
"I'm good." Calum replies. Luke looks at me, "Fantastic."
I blush for some unknown reason, (probably because Luke looked into my eyes), and look down. "Cool." I mutter and begin to pick at my nails. The boys start talking and i start listening. They are all very interesting. Luke rarely talks though. He seems so shy and quiet. Kind of like me. But he wasn't that way when he was teasing me last week in Writing.
Luke is the most interesting to me. The way he sits there, mumbling a few things here and there, makes me want to know more about him. I hope i get the chance to, but i know that will never happen...
A few hours later Ashton stands up. "Welp lads, Mads and i must be on our way." He tells them.
"Where to?" Cal questions. "My house. Maddie is staying with me." He replies, making Michael and Calum 'Ooo' and Luke tense up next to me. Which was odd.
"It's not like that, man. She just needs a place to crash for the night." He snaps. I laugh slightly at the boys' reactions. "Well, how about we come too?" Mikey asks.
Ashton looks to me for approval and i shrug. "Fine. Let's go then."
Great so now i'm staying with four hormonal teenagers for the night. This will be fun...
