Chapter 15 - Empty

Caleb did not lie at 4:30 exactly he called her saying he was down in the lobby. He would've gone to get her from her room, but he didn't to see Ian. Not because he was afraid of him, but because he didn't want his daughter to be. Nina came down a couple of minutes later, looking gorgeous, as always. Caleb knew how gorgeous she is, but he knows a relationship with her wouldn't work. A) She's here just for a vacation, B) He wasn't gonna leave his sweetheart, Lucy and C) He hated long distance relationships.

"Hello, Nina." Caleb grinned at her, "And this is my daughter, Lucy." Nina took Lucy from his arms and into hers, she absolutely adored her from the second she saw Lucy. With gorgeous blue eyes and golden blonde hair, probably from her mother and tanned skin like her dad's, which is a great combination. They walked to the car after they put Lucy in her carseat in the back, they went to the front and Caleb drove. "Aw! Caleb she's adorable. I love her already." Nina gushed. Caleb just smiled. "So where are we going?" Nina asked.

"I don't know, Lucy, dear, where do you wanna go?" Caleb asked his daughter. "Zoo!" She said. "Okay then, Zoo it is." Caleb chuckled at his loving daughter's enthusiasm. Nina smiled and looked at him, and when she did, her smile faded. He had cuts around his face, and bruises here and there, too. Wow, Ian really did hurt him badly. Nina thought and felt bad. "I'm okay now, don't worry and no it doesn't hurt, I shouldn't have kissed you in the first place." He gave her an assuring smile. "I know but Ian, he shouldn't have punched you that hard." She said and her frown deepened. He just shrugged. Nina then remembered Ian, she wanted to tell him the truth but she decided on doing it later, it honestly hurt her when she saw how upset and mad he was when she said Caleb's name.

"Lucy baby what do they teach you in daycare?" Caleb asked. And lucy replied with "turn that frown upstite down." Caleb smiled, "Hear that Nina! Even a 2 year old knows that better than you." Nina chuckled and looked away when they stopped at red light Caleb, took her face in his hand, "I'm okay, Nina." But she wouldn't look at him. "Look at me, Nina." He demanded and she did, "I am fine okay?" She nodded, "fine but I still feel g-"

"Nina come on! Today is all about having fun, leave the guilt for later." And that's when she grinned at him. Fun.. That was actually all she needed for today.

Meanwhile Ian sat in a starbucks near the hotel thinking. Today hasn't been his day, so far. First Nina and Caleb and now the phonecall from his family. He felt like he wanted to punch everything, including Caleb. And Nina... How could she go out with him? He asked himself. And then he remembered, they're not really together.. But it still hurt him like a bitch and he wondered, did Nina ever felt that way, when she saw Ian with Andrea before? His thoughts were soon cut when he saw a woman sitting in the seat across him. He looked at her, confusedly. "Ian Somerhalder." She said. "Yes?"

"Would you mind if I took a photo with you?" She said flattering her eyelashes, he also noticed what she was wearing... Damn, slutty much? He thought to himself. He hesitated at first but then took a quick picture with her, "wait!" She called out, "would you mind giving a kiss for a picture?" He felt like telling her to go fuck around with someone else but he couldn't. "Sorry busy." He said and walked away out of the starbucks. Ian wanted to leave asap to go see his older sister, but him and Nina weren't on the best talking terms at this moment, he can't suddenly tell her we're leaving today. And he doesn't want to see his sister alone, either. He wanted Nina to be with him, to calm him down and be there for him when he'll need her.

He wanted to be alone for the rest of the day, he wanted to avoid everyone and not come back until he was sure they were all asleep. He decided just to walk around until his feet hurts.

Why can't I be happy just for once?... Now I lost the love of my life and probably my sister soon....
