After the funeral and all was over, we ended up going to the Somerhalder's home. Well, only Paul and I along with the Somerhalders.

I'm actually very thankful Paul tagged along with us, otherwise it would've been very awkward.

And Ian honestly needed a close friend. The rest of the funeral I comforted Ian, held his hand and rubbed his back while we both cried. We hugged for a while even. But it wasn't the same as always, I could sense that. He tried to pull away, but he didn't which I'm glad, sort of.

The sight of the family crying almost killed me, especially Bob, Ian's brother, he kept on crying saying that he should've visited her more when she was in the hospital, he kept on crying and it really did hurt me watching him like that.

Max though..
Just the sight of him like that made me cry even harder. He looked so lost, so sad that he couldn't even hide it himself.

And it was even worst because I can't help them all to get better.

Now here Ian, Paul and I sat at cozy living room. None of us saying a word, Paul took a seat across from Ian and I, after placing a glass of water on the coffee table in front of us.

Ian didn't even look up once ever since we took our seats, he sighed every once in a while, asked for a tissue paper and wiped his tears but never spoke anything else.

I can only imagine the shit he's going through, the woman who he once lived with for the longest time, the one he knew more than anyone else, and she knew better than anyone else too! They shared childhood memories together, and then teenage memories too. He had her there for him through the whole time, and the same goes for her.

"Ian.." Paul said, looking at me first then back at Ian. "Mhm?" Ian replied lazily. "Are you oka-? Nevermind I know you're not. Do you need anything though?"

Ian shook his head and muttered, "No."

He shook his head at his friend, best friend even and got up, "Ian. Just stop it! You need to eat or drink something!"

"Paul. You. Need. To. Fuck. Off." Ian said through his gritted teeth.

"Ian you need t-" he closed his eyes before his voice softened again, "Come on man! We care about you, you haven't eaten anything in the past 3 days."

I felt bad that I didn't know that, especially since I had left him the second I had the chance to.

"Okay." Ian sighed, finally giving in.

"I'll go get you something to eat." I patted Ian's knee with a small smile, "what would you like to have?"

He shrugged, "anything."

I nodded, snickering and headed to the kitchen across the hall. I've been in this house for countless times but I've only been in this kitchen for a few times.

The fridge didn't seem to have anything besides drinks so I had a pretty hard time opening the rest of the cabinets to know what they have.

Halfway through looking through the cabinets, I heard footsteps in the kitchen which caused me to jump.

"Sorry." He apologised lightly. I recognised the voice immediately. Ian's brother. Bob. "Hey!" I smiled.

"Hey." He repeated, except in a much quieter voice. I frowned at him after hearing his voice, "are you okay?"

He sighed, "yeah. I feel awful but I'll live.."

"If you need anything, I'm here to talk to." I smiled. "And it'll get better I promise."
