A Descendant of Water

Chapter 03 - Twist

It was the Blond haired, tall boy she met at the Pool. He was only a few inches away from her. How did he get so close without being seeing. and how are those voices coming when there is no one else but him.

"what do you want?" demanded Lin.

" Scared? I did surprise you didn't I?"

"My name is Caleb, as I told you, you are in for a big change" he smirked again.

" If you know anything just tell it straight and stop following me, I don't need your advice" Lin barked back.

" You will indeed have me following, little rose" he came closer and Lin walked back.

"Stay back ,leave me alone" Lin screamed fir help in frustration.

Alex was close to the lake when he heard her screaming. He ran as fast as he could to the direction of the screams.

She walked until she came over to the very edge of the lake.

"Where will you go next Lin, you already at the edge"

She was frustrated. one more step behind she would fall into the lake.

Alex finally reached where they were and witnessed the entire scene. He could not hear any voices but what he saw from his eyes were shocking. He saw Caleb near Lin and with that he saw Caleb was not alone. Caleb had a few other figures next to him. They were not ordinary humans. They were armed with different weapons.

"Let the girl go" Alex approached them.

"Oh look who is here, It's the only descendant from the Lupak tribe, the master of water"

Alex had no idea what nonsense he was speaking about .Alex clenched his fists.

" I don't know what you are talking about, Let her go and leave her alone " Demanded Alex.

"Alex he can harm you stay back" Lin picked the words while shivering.

"Why you care Alex? Do you love her?" Caleb smiled mysteriously.

"I am not holding her ,nor will not back down you can save her Alex what's the hold up?" and he took another step forward. Lin abruptly moved back ,she lost her balance and fell into the river.

"NOOO LIN !!!!!!! " yelled Alex and he jumped into the water.

Caleb smirked and left.

Alex dived down as fast as he could. he could see Lin sinking down. he went deep for a considerable depth but he didn't feel any breathing difficulty . Then only he realized he could breath well under water. Shocked by his ability, he focused on rescuing Lin. He somehow reached her and brought her up. He realized there was no one on the land. Caleb and the team are gone. He got Lin to the dry land and checked her pulse He felt its weak.

"C'mon Lin wake up please, I will not let anything happen to you"

so he started to give CPR. Lin coughed and spluttered all the water out and started breathing again. However she was still unconscious. Alex was a little relieved. But he had to take her for safety. She needs treatments. He took her gently to his arms and carried her through the woods. He had his mind on the piece of information given by Caleb ; What is Lupak? and what did he meant by only hope? most of all how did I breathe under water? confused and frustrated Alex didn't see a root of Tree lying on the way. He tripped and fell with Lin, He was fast enough to save her head from hitting the ground and slowly rested her on the ground. "Damn" he cursed himself and checked on Lin again. He checked her pulse ones again. It was same as earlier. He felt that she is getting cold with the chill in the air from dawn of darkness with the evening sun. He took off the jacket ,he was wearing on top of the t-shirt and put it over Lin to make her warm. Cold air hit his skin and it felt soothing. He looked up to the sky and the surroundings it was splendid. The beams of last rays of sun poured on the trees ,perfectly creating the shadows on the other side. Birds are flying to their nests and the woods are becoming more quiet. he took out his mobile phone to call someone for help but since he splashed into the water with it inside the pocket the mobile has got switched off. He rose to his feel with Lin ones again and started to walk. This time he concentrated well on the path. He somehow made it out of the woods and came to the road where he was hoping to get some help.
