Chapter 18 - The Golden Dragon Tribe

Meanwhile Caleb and Rachel reached the island where their tribe resides. It was situated towards the southern part of the world. Off the coast of Madagascar.

However their island was also similar to the island of the water tribe only more heavily guarded. This island of Golden Dragon Tribe did not open its way to anyone who wish to enter the island, only a direct resemblance from the tribe can enter the island. Otherwise the island is covered in a thick mist and cloaked from the normal human eyes.

It was just like a normal island filled with trees , little streams of water and mountains but it was made for the Golden Dragon Tribe. The island had by four volcanos' around it and the civilization of the tribe has spread across the island. The chief lived in the southern part of the island with his commanders and family.
Speaking of family Rachel is seeing her home after many years, she didn't expect so many changes around. She was greeted by a heart warming hug from her mother and father. Caleb went to meet his father Hican the leader of the tribe. He was a kind , and a warm person to his own people but he is fierce for outsiders. No one has escaped from death after facing Hican.

He is tall and proud however he doesn't seem to get old. His strengths grew stronger as time passed by making him yearn more for power.Caleb inherited the same strength and power from his father. Rachel thought he was blood thirsty than his father.

Rachel went with her parents to the little house she ones remember was a home to her before being handed over to the foster parents in the main land. It was never really a home to her even though her foster parents treated her well, she always missed her real home. Her mother, ones a beautiful woman but now grey hair has grown through her blond hair, her face has started to fall and wrinkles appear when she smiles. Her mother was also from the mainland but she was brought here by her father, he fell in love with her when he was on a mission in the mainland. She got badly injured after trying to save her father from a deadly attack . there was no cure in the mainland for her so her father brought her here and healed her. He never let her out of his sight and eventually they got married. Their chief allowed the marriage as she saved his general. He father ones a strong man has grown old now. She could see wrinkles in his face and grey hair covered most of his black hair. Her dad had a Chinese ancestral background but has only inherited the name from them "Lee". He didn't have the slightest look of a Chinese man.

This explains why Rachel inherit the personality of a western girl.

"It's so lovely to have you back again Rachel. You have grown to be a beautiful woman. I'm sorry I wasn't there to see you grow"

" Thank You mother. It's ok I'm back" Rachel could see tears in her mother's eyes. Rachel smiled and embraced her mother.

"We must meet Hican now then we will have time to speak." her father said. Rachel nodded her head in agreement. Of course her parents always respected the chief more than anything else. she and Caleb was on a mission which they fulfilled successfully so they have to present themselves to the chief. They lee family left to the mansion where Hican is. It was quit huge but not big as mansions in the mainland. It was beautifully designed with the finest ornaments and construction materials. Soon as they entered the meeting room they were greeted by the chief and he pledged his thanks to Rachel for completing the mission successfully. Caleb stood at the end of the meeting room smiling at the warm welcome. He slowly made his move and greeted Rachel's parents. They settled down for some tea.

" Caleb told me everything about your mission" Hican had a wide smile spread across his face. Rachel kept her face low she was too afraid to look into chief's eyes.

" Sacrifices has to be made Rachel on behalf of your own people. I hope you will recover soon from it" this made Rachel uncomfortable. " what was he talking about ?has Caleb told him about her relationship with Nick." She thought for herself while nodding in response to the chief.

" General we have now received the golden seal back. It's time to make other plans to expand our powers. We will start tomorrow , you will need to come here and wait for me."

"Yes sir" General agreed.

"Father I suspect whether Alex is dead or still injured." Rachel looked at Caleb with a sharp look. He smirked and continued. Hican glanced at him with a surprise.

" How do you say?"

" Well father, Alex may not be aware of who he is yet but we do he is the successor of the water tribe. He is more powerful than we think. There are few tribes living in that island already so we didn't stay behind to see whether he actually died."

Rachel was struck , "this is not good" she thought to herself. She knew Alex could survive but with Caleb trying to strike him again , she wasn't sure of his safety.

Hican considered the explanation for a while. He had a dark expression on his face. He wasn't happy about the information he just got to know.

" We will have to ensure his death Caleb. You may have to visit the island very soon"

Rachel continued to look down. She was thinking fast of what she can do to stop this.

She knew there is no stopping of this father and son when it comes to power. She had a registered worry on her face . They took their leave from the chief and left to their house.
