chapter 23 - Together

Chill air swept through the island with the night wind. The moon was now above them slowly making it's way to the horizon.Chilled air touched her skin through the fabric of her cloths. Her long hair fallen from either side of her shoulders swiftly danced to the subtle wind.
Lin got up from her spot and moved near the fire for warmth. She couldn't believe that another day will be finishing soon but Seth is still unconscious.
She saw master has returned to his meditation.
"What about Seth? He isn't telling anything" Lin thought. She went to the cave to see him but he was fully passed out. Her hands were running cold apart from the cold wind brought, her heart beat rose with every passing moment. "what's wrong with me? I feel I can't wait any longer, Seth what if he doesn't make it back?" Lin thought to herself.

"Watch out you'll burn yourself!!!" Someone yelled Lin jerked back almost falling behind. Her hands were inches away from fire, she almost burned herself but she didn't even feel the heat touching her skin. Her mind was drifted completely she doesn't have any idea of what's happening.. it's like all her senses are gone..it was Alex who yelled.

"What's got into you Lin? what were you thinking!? You could have hurt yourself" Alex said in a firm tone.

Lin was still shocked couldn't even say a word.
"I...er.....What .. happened?" She stammered.

"Well you were moving your hands towards the fire. Almost gonna burn yourself. Didn't you at least feel the heat?"

Lin shook her head. She glanced at her hands. They were red from the heat ,so close to get a nice blister but she was lucky Alex saw on time.

"What world are you in?" Alma questioned.

"Guess I was just lost in thought"

"Just lost in thought? Is that what you expect us to believe? You are worried about Seth!" Alma blurred out. Alex shot a look on Alma . Lin glared at her.

"Even if I am it's non of your business" with that remark Lin left them moved to her spot on the cliff facing the sea. Alex starred at Lin with a frown.

Then he relaxed his brow. He wanted to comfort her but he felt he wouldn't be able to do it now.. he felt a wall has appeared between him and Lin.

Alex sighed and returned to the cave with Alma.

"Did you ever loved her Alex?" Alma questioned as they sat on his bed.

He starred at her with widened eyes.

"What makes you say that?" he asked firmly.

"You seem to be concern about her"

Alex smiled.

" We are friends Alma. I thought I loved her too but.."

He hesitantly took her hand in his. Their fingers entwined with each other and he spoke to her in a low voice.

"now I realize I haven't loved her"

Alma looked into his eyes , the sky blue eyes where she finally found her home.

"Dinner time!, come out everyone!" it was Master Ronan. The moment was broken. Alma blushed and looked down. Alex let go of her hand and they walked out. Master has already settled himself for dinner already but they could see Lin was still in her spot. Alex and Alma each took a seat beside each other in front of the fire.

"Will you not join us for dinner Lin ?" Master Ronan called out to her.

"I'm not hungry master I'll eat later" Master knew what was running in her mind. He knew she doesn't know that Seth is awake. But something else caught his eyes.

"Dear one" his voice was like a request.

Lin looked at master. His eyes were full of hope, he gestured her to the cave where Seth was. Lin slowly looked at the cave.
She gasped. Her eyes widened , A smile spread through her face.
"Seth" she whispered his name.
A tall figure starred back at her from the entrance of the cave. She could see the same smile escaped from his lips.
The bandages were still on him, she could see he has changed into a fresh pair of jeans and a shirt which wasn't buttoned. She could clearly see his golden skin through the gap, along with the black line of the lash. He took small steps towards them. Towards her in his heart.

"Hey it's Seth!" Alex said out loud. Alma smiled in his direction. they both rushed and each gave him a hug. Lin waited on the cliff. She wasn't sure whether she could get any close to him as she did from her heart. Doubts filled her mind. She was over joyed but afraid to face him at the same time.

"Good to see you in your heels again and thank you for risking everything to save us"

"No need to thank Alex. It's my pleasure"
Alma didn't know what to say. She doesn't love him now but there was a time she tried to break into his heart after Aria died. But she wasn't successful. He wouldn't even show a slight interest. But he seems to be different now.

Alex noticed that Seth's gaze was upon somewhere else. He turned to see where he was looking at. It was Lin.
Alex stepped aside clearing Seth's path. Alma also moved. Seth looked at Alex with a puzzled expression. Alex gestured towards Lin. He nodded in gratitude and slowly made his way towards her.

" What did you do Alex?" Alma was not so happy about it.

Alex smiled. He turned towards her and got a hold of her shoulders.

" Everyone deserves a true love Alma. She healed him just like you did to me"
Alma starred at him speechless.

Seth limped and winced with each step and clutched his wound. His long hair was hanging upto his neck line,the face seemed brightened,eyes were the sky blue as usual. Tall and proud as ever he paced the gap between Lin and him. A few days he was unconscious but he felt like it was ages,he missed her little smile,brown eyes and the beautiful face. His heart yearned to see her. Now he finally sees her after a few days which he feels like years and he remembered her kind words that healed his heart and brought him back to life. His heart beat grew with each step.They were now facing eachother only a few feets away.
Lin's eyes were gleaming,her smile never left her face.tears foamed in her eyes threatening to fall.

"Thank you for everything Lin" his deep voice ones again filled her ears after many days. It fluttered butterflies within her. "But how did he know it was me?" Lin thought.

"How did you....."

Before she could finish he paced the gap and wrapped his strong arms around her waist and pulled her to him. He wanted to feel her soft pink lips but it's not the time now. He gently stroked her long black hair having his other hand wrapped around her waist. Lin's heart pounded loudly as her head rested against his strong chest. She could hear that their hearts beat the same way. She rested her hands on his broad back.genlty he rested his chin on her head.

"I felt your presence with me Lin. I may have been unconscious but I felt everything. You brought me back to life"

Alma looked away. For many years she was trying to break to his heart. "How did Lin do it"
