Chapter 07 - Journey ahead

Alex was furious at home he couldnt sleep couldnt eat. He was upset because his secret was revealed. But more than anything else he was upset that he thinks his secret was revealed by Lin. He went to bed early that day. He starred through his bed room window.He saw Lins house from his room. No lights . He didnt see her returning after campus. He tried calling her but her phone was offed. He waited till night around 8.00pm he checked again. Still no one. He felt worried. He remembered her shocked face, her face wincing and straining with pain when he pinned her to the wall. He was ashamed and sad. He would never want to treat a girl in that manner. He doesnt know what happened to him. He tried calling again. No use. He tried calling Rachel. She also has offed her phone. He decided to go and see in the campus. He looked everywhere for her. Everywhere she could be. But no luck. Alex worried deeply. Finally he remembered the pool. When he approach there, he sensed something has happened. He observed the surroundings well. Alex breathe hitched when he saw Lins books scattered all over the place and some have fallen inside the pool and her phone was on the ground. He rushed and searched around. He saw some left overs of ropes. With trembling hands he picked up the empty syringe.

"No no It cant be ,Lin where is she? all her stuff are here.It's all a mess" Alex ran his fingered through his hair vigorously.

"Looking for someone" Raspy voice spoke from the breaches. It was Caleb.

Álex clenched his fists. "What did you do to Lin !!!? Where is SHE?!!!" Alex was loosing his temper.

"Calm down Romeo. She is right here. Don't be too concerned for her. I saw how you treated her Alex. You hurt her first"  he ran his hand over a figure lying next to him on the breaches. Alex couldn't see the face properly in the dark. He could only see an outline of the figure. He tried to run and come to her.

"Not so fast Alex " Alex stopped.

"I will give you your princes but you must come with me and show me the location of the seal. " Caleb Smirked.

"and if I dont?"

Caleb laughed and took out a knife. Alex could see the shinning metal in the dark. He kept the knife on Lins neck. Alexs eyes widened and he was furious.

"No don't " Alex begged.

"Ah you understood I guess. You decide whether it is Lin's life or your seal. " Caleb didn't move the knife.

"Ill come but I have never seen anything in that way off the mainland . . " Alex agreed.

"Oh it will appear for the right person. .Very well , Ill give you time till dawn. At 6 am meet me at the peer. We'll go there. But if you do not turn up. Don't think I cant harm her"

"You have my word Caleb"

"Good. See you at Dawn" He disappeared.

Alex rushed to Lin and cut out the ropes .Her wrists and ankles were red and bruised. Her face had a several marks of bruises. Her hands had finger marks. Alex's heart sank. And most of all they have injected something to her. He got her to a sitting pose. Touched her face. It was cold. He hugged her face to his chest so that he could give some heat to her.

"Lin Lin can you hear me?please wake up" hot tears ran down his face.

After sometime she stirred and woke up. Lin felt a lot dizzy and she felt the darkness is fading away. All were blur but gradually she got her sight back. She saw Alex with a worried face and teary. Waves of emotions came into her mind. She still had the shock from Alex rage. Lin shot up and tried to move away.

"Sta.. Stay back Alex I can't take anymore pain don't hurt me. "

"Lin no i'm sorry I didn't come to hurt you, Lin please stop" Alex moved towards her. But Lin was too weak with all the chaos happened to her. She was weary. She moved backward but she fell back. Alex caught up with her .he helped her up and made her sit. He hugged her,Lin struggled to get away, Alex had a tight grip. she felt an unusual warm heart in him.

"Alex"

"Its alright Lin,its ok.. Im here.. All will be good." Alex stroked her hair.

Tears rolled down her cheeks." I didnt tell out your secret. Alex I dont know. Everyone hurt me Alex"

"shhhh now, thats ok Lin. I feel like this is a plan. Its not your fault. Im sorry I hurt you"

He released her from the hug and faced her. He moved the strands of hair out of her face. Lins skin felt comfortable each time he touched her.

"You will be ok Lin, So many scars, did they do this to you?" He ran his fingers along her hand. Lin nodded.

"I'm so sorry Lin. Its all my fault. If I behaved myself a little bit this wont happen to you." Alex was taking heavy breathes.

"No Alex. Its not true. Even if you didn't do this to me. They would still use me to get you to do what they want."

Alex sighed.

"I have a lot to talk with you Lin. Well go home first. Then we will discuss. Can you walk? "

Lin nodded. And she got up. She took a few steps forward but she felt her legs are getting numb. She felt dizzy and no balance. She had a terrible pain in her right arm. She doesn't remember most of what happened. Unable to move she sat on the ground.Alex sat beside her.

"Hard isnt it? I guess they injected a drug into you." And he showed her the injection.

Memories started flooding into Lin. She remembered all.

"Drug. Yes they tried to knock me out with chloroform then they injected this to me."

Lin removed the jacket she was wearing and then they saw, in her right arm a small spot has turned blue. Lin was trembling. She was not used to this foreign liquid.

"Shit "Alex cursed.

"Lin just stand up don't move" Alex ordered. Confused she did the same. Alex bent down and scooped her into his arm.

"Just hold on to my neck" Lin obeyed. She was like in a cradle. Her whole body ached and pains from wounds were unbearable. She was confused and she didn't know how he found her. She looked into his face. Alex was looking straight ahead and walking. His hair was a mess and few strands were fallen across his eyes. She could see well his blue eyes in the dark. He was irresistible. Despite of his anger and how he reacted. Lin knew she had a special place for Alex in her. Alex was strong and brave. He was always different than any boy she has ever met. Alex didn't slow down his pace. He continued in the same pace, walking as fast as he could. Somehow he got her home, but he didn't take Lin to her home. He took her to his house.
