Chapter 10 - Seth

Lin followed the instruction given by Rachel. She dressed up and prepared to leave. The last words of Rachel played in her mind. She needed to hurry.

"I may spare you Lin, but I'm sorry I cannot do the same for Alex. I'm letting you go so that if you can find a way to stop Me and Caleb , you can save Alex. I would be supporting Caleb, its for our family honour. We are from the bloodline of golden dragon tribe, We stop for nothing."

She went near the bridge and concentrated on the island and a boat. Just like it did for Alex and Caleb, the island came into the view and the boat was near the shore.

Lin didn't know how to row a boat properly. She somehow took the courage and rowed it. It was a smooth sail until she crossed the lagoon into the island territory. As she got closer she felt she is not alone. Lin looked around . A strange mist was coming from the island. When she looked at the sky she could tell that it is afternoon already. Then how can a mist come at this time? Lin wondered. She looked at the water , she saw a sudden movement under water. Lin couldn't make it out. She stared down at the water not seen a rock approaching her boat. The boat hit the rock luckily it didn't create any leak. Lin struggled to get the boat back to the course. She was only a few feet away from the island. She didn't want to get down to the water and make a quick swim. She would need to keep the boat safe so that she can return and she didn't bring to much cloths for a change. she was wearing a denim jeans and a tank top and a jacket. She got a small bag of emergency supplies and first aid. Now she is stuck with a rock. Lin sensed that someone was watching her. She abruptly went to the corner of the boat to try moving it away from the rock which made the boat rock fiercely. Lin tried to balance herself with the aid of the rock. and the hand skid cutting her palm to the sharp edges of the rock. Lin winced in pain as blood trickle down her hand. She was about to get her first aid when she saw a figure approaching her in another boat. She couldn't make it out at fist because of the mist. She waved her hand and she could see the figure held his hand up. She could tell from the built that it is a boy. The boat came close. Suddenly a lasso caught the edge of the boat and pulled it out of the rock.

Lin didn't have time to figure things out.

" Hurry row your boat . I'll guide it to the shore with mine. We don't have much time."

Can this day get any more weird than this Lin thought to herself. She didn't even look around or look at the figure but followed the instructions. Her boat pulled out and she rowed it where the boy guide her to the shore. The pain from the cut was immense. It was a deep cut Lin could tell. She got off the boat and pulled it to the shore but it wouldn't come any further to the land from water.

"These boats doesn't work like your main land boats. Let it be. It will come when you need one" The boy said. Lin was spooked so she took her hands off the boat. It disappeared into the mist. Lin was awe. she turned and saw the boy looking towards the sea. She wanted to thank him for the help. So she went closer to him. He looked at her and signaled her to come soon . She went near him soon.

"look" he pointed towards the sea. Lin stared at the direction he pointed. Something pooped up from the sea it was like a serpent, she couldn't see a face but only a slithery body. it was a monstrous size. Gray scales were all over it, bigger than any anaconda she has ever seen. It's body disappeared back to the sea. She would have been dead meat if it wasn't for this boy. But these creatures exists? Lin wondered.

"A few more minutes out there, you would have made a nice snack for him" boy smiled. He was a well built boy with broad shoulders and a strong chest. Hair is a bit long and dark . His eyes were sky blue. His cloths were a bit of old fashion. But it suited him well. He was wearing a normal jeans and what looked like a t-shirt. He was very much like Alex but far handsome than him. Out of all, the voice was deep and strong.

"Thank You for saving me.What is that creature? Aren't they extinct ?"

" That's what you main landers' think. The ocean hides many secrets." He grinned.

"what are you doing in our island. How did you find this? No main landers' come here." Lin explained why she had to come.

" I am Seth. Seth Machoy."

"I am Lin."

"Nice to meet you Lin." He extended his hand for a hand shake. Lin did the same. But she pulled her hand as a jolt of pain hit her when they shook hands. Seth startled. He looked at his hand. He saw blood. He frowned at her.

"You are hurt. Show me your hand"

"It's ok.. Nothing big Seth." Lin smiled and tried to wave it off. But when she looked at Seth,she knew immediately she has done something that does not please him. He wore a disappointed expression and a very serious one indeed. Looks like the outlanders has no sense of humour thought Lin. Seth looked straight into Lin's eyes. Something was strange. He had a very concerned expression in his eyes.

Finally she gave in.

Lin extended her hand. He examined well.

"For the rocks?"

Lin nodded her head.

" Come with me" 

"We just met and you behave as if you know me pretty well and now you want me to follow you as well?"

Lin responded sternly.

Seth moved close to her. She turned her face and looked down.

"This world is very small. As far as I know I am living in this island and you are not, so I know what needs to be done. Understand?"

Lin nodded.

"Good. Follow me" he made his way and Lin starred at him but eventually followed him.

he took her into the forest. He stopped near some plants and plucked a few leaves.

" I do not have anything with me to crush these leaves. Is it ok if I chew them and crush them? there is no other way. I'm sorry"

"Well......." she hesitated but she couldn't say no when he had already helped her escape her death from a sea monster plus she is on a creepy island, she knows nothing about. Lin thought 

"Sure go ahead"Lin responded.

He chewed them in his mouth and took lin's hand and placed them on top of the wound.

"Owe that hurt." Lin became teary. The pain was that much.

"Hold on it will get well soon" Seth ripped a line from his t-shirt and tied the medicine to the wound.

"That should do it , Nothing to worry you'll be ok".

"Thank You for helping me. You didn't even know me properly but still you helped me"

Seth smiled.

" Your welcome. I live in a village here . But they are very traditional they do not welcome any visitors. you'll be a prisoner first with them before walking freely. I suggest you stay out of the village. I'll be on my way. have a safe way. I hope you find what you are looking for"

" Thank You" responded Lin. She continued her way. She remembered the way Alex described the location of the seal. She needed to find a river. She continued into the island.
