The next morning chief summoned Lin. Two guards with the blades took her to the chief. Her wounds are still fresh. She winced in pain for grip they had on her. Seth was out if his tent. He witnessed the scene. He felt her pain for some reason. She was devastated her eyes were half closed , her face was covered in dirt and she was limping. A guilt rose in him. He couldn't bring himself to her.
"Her wounds must be painful for her. I couldn't even do the treatments last night. What was i thinking. Why did i shout at her. She was just trying to help me." seth thought for himself. He was looking at her with a tight brow. She saw him. His eyes had the expression of sorrow. Lin looked down and walked on. She doesn't know whether he is still mad at her.
When the crowd went in to the chief's tent Seth slowly approached the tent and stood behind the crowd. They dropped her on her knees she groaned in pain. But she managed to keep her head up.

" What is your name child?"

"its Zhao Lin sir."

" You are chinese?"

"My parents are. I was born here" Lin looked at his face.

Chief narrowed his eyes at her. She looked down.

"What brings you here? "

"I came here to find my friend." Lin's voice was shaky but she had to face this. She felt alone her only friend on the island is no longer her friend. If Seth was besides her he would have said something to save her.

"So you knew he got injured and rushed here? How did you know?"

"Sir i didn't know he was injured. He left without telling me, i wanted to know whether he was safe."

Seth listened very well. "So she loves him?" He thought. He felt his chest tightening. He ran his fingers through his black hair.

"So you two have an eternal bond? He is your lover?"

For some reason Seth didn't want to listen to the answer Lin gives. He went out of the tent. Seth felt he is loosing his emotional stability. He wasn't sure why. He walked into his tent & lied down on the bed he had. He tried to shut his eyes and fall asleep but no sleep came. His mind was like a storm unable to calm down. So he layed there awake starring up. He heaved heavy breathes. "Is Alex someone important to her beyond friendship" he wondered.

"No sir. We are friends from childhood. I just wanted to check on him"

Chief thought for a while.

"Did he come here alone? I am well aware that our island is not visible to outsiders until they search this with a reason. We ones lived in the mainland. Our tribes were well off with everything. We had powerful sorceresses' with us. They mastered the ways of water. They bonded with water just like an extension of themselves."

These words caught on Lin. It sounds similar to the water tribe Alex descended from. She listened intently." Could it be Alexs lost tribe? But they were all killed". Lin thought to herself. The chief continued.

"As time passed by, the new generations didn't tolerate well with the ancient ways of connecting with the nature. In fact they didn't believe in nature. Soon our ancestors decided to move out of the main land. Their magic created this island with a connection to the mainland however only the ones who seek our island with a purpose will be able to see our island. Our ancestors hid the deepest secrets in this island , only the descendants of the tribe will know those. Thats one reason why only remaining of the mystical creatures appear more close to our island. This was the home to more than one tribe. With time wars raged between the tribes and some tribes were destroyed completely, some fled away to the mainland to keep the remaining ones of their tribe safe. The sorceresses' build this island with laws where uninvited outsiders will be executed to keep our secrets safe. And no one from the tribe is allowed to step onto the mainland if not for a reason. These are the main two rules we follow."
