The next work day was hectic, but I loved every minute of it. And before I knew it, it was 6:30.

I shut down my computer and decluttered my space before exiting the building. Not trying to make the same mistake again, I opted to drive to the gym. I'd already packed my gym bag, so all I had to do was get dressed.

In no time I was pulling into 360 Fitness' parking garage. I jumped out of the car, with my gym bag in tow and made a beeline to the women's locker room. There, I quickly changed out of my work clothes and into a pair of charcoal nike tights, a forest green loose tank, and my black free runs. Once I pulled my hair up and out of the way, I was ready to start this undoubtedly gruesome workout.

Approaching the trainer's corner, I spotted Adrian reclining in his swivel chair with his feet propped on top of his desk as he repeatedly tossed a small blue ball above his head.

"Ready." I chirped, once I got within ear shot of him.

"You're late." He quipped back. He swung his toned legs off of the desk and walked from around it. I looked down at my apple watch and the time read 7:02 p.m.

"Sorry, I had to cha-" I went to explain.

"Don't care. Follow me." He cut me off and walked past me, causing me to roll my eyes behind his back.

He lead me to the yoga room and instructed me to sit down. After telling me to sit with my legs in a V-shape, he got behind me and began pushing my back. Somewhere in between, I caught a cramp in my hamstring and damn-near screamed out in pain.

Adrian shook his head at me and proceeded once the pain had subsided.

Once he was sure every muscle was stretched, we moved on to the 'fun stuff', as he called it. We went to a different side of the gym, that I didn't even know existed and he had me get onto a treadmill. After pulling a stopwatch out of his pocket, he set the speed and incline and told me to go. As I sped walked, he occasionally adjusted my posture or the speed on the machine.

It wasn't for another 30 minutes before he let me get off, and I was embarrassingly exhausted.

"Okay, you warmed up?"

"No, I'm hot." I complained, resting my hands on my knees.

He did that same little smirk. "Okay, even better."

For the next hour, he put me through a series of exercises ranging from sprints to planks. When we were done, my body felt like a limp noodle. As soon as he said time on my fifth and final plank, I dropped to the ground and rolled over onto my back, drenched in sweat.

"Am I dead?" I questioned no one in particular. I was staring to see little black dots and I was convinced death was near if it hadn't made a visit already.

Adrian chuckled. "No, and neither is that spider right there." He pointed to my left.

I don't know where the energy can from, but at the mention of a spider I jumped up so fast that I became dizzy.

He was full on laughing now. This was the first time I'd seen a real smile from him and, even though it was at my expense, it was the cutest thing to see his deep dimples sink in and his face light up.

"I was just joking." He managed to get out between laughs.

With my hands on my hips, I tried my best to suppress a smirk.

"Well, I hope the one right next to you bites you." I stated matter of factly before walking away from him.

Not even two seconds later I heard him yell "Oh shit." Followed by his feet hitting the ground.
