I woke up the next morning at about 11 o'clock, feeling as if I'd slept on a cloud. I felt more relaxed and at ease than I had in a while.

This is, until I tried to stand from my bed. It was then that I felt as if I'd gotten shot in the leg. After getting over the initial pain, I limped to the bathroom and took a long, hot shower in hopes of soothing some of the pain. By the time I got out, the pain had only subsided a little, so I took two Aleve and prayed for the best.

Once I dried off, I lathered my body with coconut oil and brushed my teeth before throwing on a short, orange t-shirt dress. My hair was still standing on top of my head, so I quickly braided a crown and put the rest in a high messy bun.

I exited my room and scanned the living room for Adrian, but he was nowhere to be found. Walking closer to the couch, I noticed his blankets neatly folded and stacked with a note on top of the pillow.

I picked up the half piece of paper and read the uniform scribble:

Thanks for letting me crash here last night. You take a couple days off to rest your knee and I'll see you on Monday.

P.S. I walked and fed Bear. I hope you don't mind.

- A.W.

Honestly, I was a little bummed the he was gone. It was kinda nice having someone to talk to that wasn't Bear.

I placed the note onto the coffee table and started cleaning up. I'd put away all of the candles, did some laundry, vacuumed, and straighten everything up when there was a knock on my front door.

Skeptical as to who it could be, I padded over to the door and stood on the tips of my toes to look through the peep hole. However, whoever was on the other side had placed their finger over the opening.

"Move your finger or I'm not opening the door." I called out loud enough for them to hear through the thick wooden door.

There was an audible groan before the finger was removed and Olivia came into view. I immediately snatched the door open and tackled her to the ground in a hug. As much as I hated to admit it, I missed my best friend more than ever. I missed our random slumber parties, girls nights, heart to hearts, and even her obnoxiously loud laugh.

"What the hell are you doing here? Better yet, how did you find out where I live?" I questioned once I helped her from the ground.

I helped her straighten her clothes up since they'd been rustled when I tackled her. The skinny jeans she had on hugged her slight curves and the bright yellow cold shoulder blouse looked amazing against her rich chocolate skin.

"You know I have my ways," and that she did. She worked with the government, specializing in entail, so there was no telling the information that she had access to. "and I came to check on my best friend... or at least I thought you were my best friend." She rolled her eyes which caused me to return the gesture.

"No bitch. You tried it though. I should be the one questioning whether you are my best friend or not."

"Ugh!"

"Ugh nothing." I crossed my arms across my chest. "How am I supposed to feel when my best friend won't even listen to me when I'm going through something? Especially something as serious as that, Liv."

I could actually see her shrinking back the more I told her about herself. Her eyes started to get a little misty and I knew she was trying her hardest to hold back tears.

"I fucked up. And I'm so sorry. I've missed you so much, Bella. Here." she picked up her oversized purse that was lazily hanging onto her suitcase handle and began digging through it before pulling out a small bottle of Hennessy. "Truce?"
