"Here. Try this." Adrian carefully moved the wooden spoon towards my mouth.

As soon as he got within a few inches, I pulled my face back.

"Did you blow it this time?" I questioned skeptically. The last thing he had me try was scorching hot and I had a burned tongue to vouch for it.

He sucked his teeth before blowing the hot contents then continued to feed me the thick, yellow colored liquid. The taste could only be described as heavenly. It had an abundance of complimenting flavors with just the right amount of kick at the end. I almost moaned at the delectable taste.

"Do I need to add anything?"

I shook my head. "No. It's perfect."

"See, I told you healthy food can still be good." He ate the remaining soup from the spoon and tossed it into the sink with the other dirty dishes before going over and removing the oversized pot off of the gas stovetop.

"Well," I slid off of my kitchen counter to retrieve the food containers from the cabinet, "that may be true, but cheeseburgers and french fries will forever have my heart."

He didn't respond, but instead shook his head and took the plastic containers from my hands. After lining them all up, we began placing all of the food we'd made into each. It took about half an hour to measure the food, divide it into separate containers, and put it away for the week ahead.

Fortunately, Adrian still came over to help me with meal prep, but as the weeks went by, I didn't need him as much. However, his company was welcomed and the fact that he did most of the cooking didn't hurt either.

"Well, I guess I should get going." He mentioned after placing the last dish away that I washed.

I nodded outwardly, but on the inside I was throwing a childish temper tantrum.

"You need anything before I head out?" He took his keys out of his pocket in preparation to head out and looked around making sure that the garnet forgotten anything.

"Yes."

His face scrunched as he looked at me. "What's up?"

I didn't say anything, and instead puckered my lips towards him. Ever since he kissed me that night, I couldn't get enough. His lips were just so soft and seemed to mold into mine perfectly.

He let out a breathy laugh before taking a couple steps towards me to close the space between us. He took ahold of my waist and pulled me into him, causing me to wrap my arms around his neck. Within seconds, his juicy lips were covering mine in a semi-passionate kiss.

But, before it got too heated, he pulled away.

"No." I whined, while trying to pull him back. His lips were like a drug and I was definitely hooked.

No matter how much I tried, he wouldn't budge and I finally gave up, crossing my arms across my chest. He just smirked down at me and shook his head.

"Hey. I was gonna ask you if you're busy next weekend."

I thought about my plans for the next week and groaned in response when I realized the cookout was the next weekend. Even though I kinda missed my city, I wasn't ready to return to a place that held so many painful memories.

"I do, but if you have something better I wouldn't be opposed to changing plans." I was looking for literally anything to excuse myself from having to go to the outing.

He shook his head. "No. It's no big deal. I was just going to a fitness convention and thought you'd like to tag along."

Now, I couldn't think of anything worst than spending and entire day listening to people telling me that I'm fat and that they had the solution to all of my fat lady problems.
