We sat in silence, as we got got lost in our thoughts at the top of the steep hill. The once clear blue sky were now replaced with looming, dark grey clouds. When the first crack of thunder sounded and Bear jumped from his sleep, I snapped back to reality and stood from the ground.

"You ready to get out of here?" I questioned a still statue-like Adrian.

He nodded his head slightly before lifting himself from the ground and we began making our trek down.

We didn't get halfway down the hill before the bottom fell out of the sky. The rain poured down so hard and fast that I could hardly see in front of me. Before I knew it, I was on the ground with a scuffed knee and mud all over myself.

Damn my lacking athletic abilities.

I tried getting up, but pain shot through my left knee like lightning. Bear's barking grew louder over the pounding rain as he neared me.

At this point, I still couldn't see anything and I began to wonder if this was what the prerequisite to hell felt like.

As soon as I was getting ready to accept the fact that my life was coming to a cold, wet end, I felt a pair of strong arms scoop underneath me and lift me from the ground. The way his arm was adjusted on my leg caused yet another wave of discomfort to travel up, this time causing me to groan in pain.

I felt him slow down his strides and adjusted his arm to rest underneath my thighs, relieving the pain a little -- but not much. I just knew my knee was swollen and I immediately thought the worst.

Tears were threatening to fall from my eyes, but I refused to cry in front of Aiden. I'd already cried enough over the course of time that I'd been here, so I figured I'd reached my limit for the time being.

In no time I was being placed gently into the passenger side of the car. Aiden sprinted around to the driver's side and jumped in. He started the car up and turned on the heater since the wet clothes were sticking and in no time he pulled off in the direction of my place.

Not even halfway through the trip, Adrian decided to peel his soaking shirt off, leaving his upper half bare. As much as I tried, I couldn't stop my eyes from roaming over every ripple that the muscles created. His body was definitely a sight for sore eyes -- or in my case, sore knees.

"Sorry. It was bothering to me." He said, tossing the drenched shirt into the backseat.

I cleared my throat and snapped my attention to the car in front of us as if it were the most interesting thing I'd ever seen.

"It- it's fine." I could've slapped myself for stuttering.

It wasn't for another grueling 30 minutes until we pulled into the garage of my building. Aiden eased into one of the spots marked "visitor" and shut off the engine. He hopped out of the car and jogged around to my side and opened my door.

Without saying a word, he placed an arm underneath my legs and one on my back and easily pulled me out of the car, making sure to be careful with my leg.

He carried me through the lobby, up the elevator and all the way up to my apartment before putting me down to retrieve my keys. Once I opened the door, Bear sprinted inside and to his bed, quickly curling up and going to sleep.

I definitely had the laziest dog on earth.

Aiden went to help me inside, but I couldn't take his bare chest pressed to my body any longer and stopped him.
