Breathe Abella. Just Breathe.

I tried coaching myself down, but it wasn't working. Thinking about him was one thing, but actually seeing him in person was a completely different story.

If I didn't get out of here soon, I was convinced I was going to go to jail.

I got up and made my way back into the house to look for Liv so that we could leave. After searching throughout the house without seeing her, I pulled out my phone and called her. The phone rang a few times before she picked up.

"Hey, Snick."

"Where are you?" I was too stressed to even greet her properly.

She paused for a second. "I ran to the liquor store with Snoop real quick."

The only liquor store that I knew of was about thirty minutes away, not factoring in traffic.

I felt my heart about to beat to beat out of my chest. "I need to leave like now."

Olivia immediately went into panic mode. "What happened?"

"I just gotta get out of here."

"O-okay. I'm gonna come back. I should be there in like 45 minutes."

I shook my head. "No. You stay and get what you need. I'll figure something out."

Before she could answer I hung up. I didn't want to cut her fun time short.

Just as I went into my Uber app, as if fate had it, I received a text from Adrian.

Adrian: Made it to Miami. My offer still stands if you want to come with me to the meathead convention lol

I didn't want to bother him, but I didn't want to be here either. So, I made my decision and texted him back.

Abella: How fast can you make it to this address?

Along with the message I sent my location.

Immediately, the pending bubble popped up, signaling that he was typing. It didn't take long for the message to come through.

Adrian: About 15 minutes. You good?

Abella: Can you come pick me up?

Adrian: I'm on my way to you now.

I sighed and stuck my phone into my pocket and sat on the curb. I took a few deep breaths to calm my nerves, but it didn't help.

From the outside looking in I must have looked like a crazy person, rocking back and forth while sitting on the curb.

Even though the sun had gone down, the Miami heat was still blistering and beat down on my body relentlessly. The heat in conjunction with the angry thoughts swirling around in my head caused the time to seem as if it were going by at a snail like pace. It felt as if I'd been sitting there for hours, when in reality it had only been minutes.

I sat staring down at my trembling hands when I felt a presence hovering over me. When I looked up I was met with Adrian's concerned gaze. I lifted myself from the curb and walked straight to his rental car that he'd left running in the middle of the street and got inside. He got in moments later and began down the street that was heavily crowded with parked cars.

Once I got comfortable, I laid my head onto the cool glass to try to ease the pounding in my head.

After a couple minutes of silence, Adrian finally spoke.

"Where do you want to go?"

"Anywhere." The words cam out so low that I wasn't even sure if he heard me.
