"Then he just kissed me." I'd gone over the events of the previous night three times already and Olivia was convinced that I was leaving out details. "There's nothing else to tell. I swear."
It didn't make sense to me either. Granted, we'd gotten a lot closer ever since we'd been spending much time together in the gym and when he'd randomly pop up to ransack my refrigerator for junk food. But, never had we gotten that close.
"Mhm... so, how long y'all been fuckin'?" I rolled my eyes at her and stood form the bed. "I mean, I don't blame you. That man is fine as hell! I'm just mad you didn't tell me."
"Well, you can get yourself un-mad because nobody is knocking anything down over here. And I'm not gonna keep repeating it. What happened to you believing me the first time?"
She pouted. "So, you just gonna keep throwing that up in my face?"
I acted like I was pondering the question. "Yep. Now, answer your phone before it blows up." I said, swiping it off of the dresser and tossing it to her.
"Ugh!" She groaned. "It's just my boss. This man has been getting on my nerves from the moment I stepped off the plane. His ass needs to give me his paycheck since I'm the one doing his job."
"Girl, you better answer before he fires your ass."
"That nigga can't afford to fire me." While saying that she slid her finger across the screen to answer. "Hello Mr. Tavers. How are you this morning?"
I burst into laughter at her change of tone. She shushed me while trying to hold in her own snickers.
"Hey, you never got your phone out of my purse." She whispered, placing her hand over the receiver. I nodded and retrieved the device and went into the other room to give her some privacy.
It turned out to be the perfect distraction for me to get my own work done. I was able to complete more than a few sketches as well as book a few shows to showcase the previous designs that I'd created. By the time I was done, Olivia had yet to come out of the room, so I figured she'd fallen asleep.
My phone vibrated beside me and I realized that I hadn't checked it since before heading into the club the night before. I had a slew of unread text messages and missed calls.
I checked the missed calls first and returned the ones that were important, then checked my messages and one name stood out to me: Adrian.
I clicked the thread and scrolled through the messages from last night and this morning.
Adrian: Where you at?!
Adrian: Hit me back or I'm coming to get you
Adrian: I'm sorry about last night. I think I had a little too much to drink and I shouldn't have come onto you like that. It won't happen again.
I didn't really know how to feel about the message. But for some reason, I was kind of disappointed that it was only the alcohol making him feel as if I was desirable. I exited out of the thread and went through my other texts until I heard noises coming from Olivia's bedroom.
As soon as I prepared myself to see what was going on, she emerged from the other side, wheeling two of her suitcases behind her.
"What's going on?" I asked her, panicked by her sudden departure.
"Girl, I gotta go. Some shit has hit the fan and splattered. People just don't know how to act when I'm not around." She was visibly upset, but I understood. "I swear, if I don't get a raise after cleaning up this shit, I'm done. They can kiss my entire ass."
